The red eye curse

Im looking for the cure! What causes red eyes? What are red eyes? What can you do to PREVENT THEM from happening, not what you can do to clear them up. I beleive red eyes are just smoke blowing into your eye and irritating it to the point of inflamation, but correct me if im worng. As far as i know there is no way to prevent red eyes, and if there was, i would already posess that product. Well, thanks for your input!

I'm not exactly sure but I think red eyes is from the blood vessels in your eye expanding.

Redeye is caused by the dialation of the blood vessels in your eye. Pot naturally dialates blood vessels, so this is what causes your eyes to turn red. Getting pot smoke in your eye, could, theoretically, increase the effect as it'd irritate the eye, and may absorb some of the blood vessel dialating effect.

There is a cure. It's called Visene.

However, doctors say you shouldn't use Visene all the time because what it mainly does is contract the blood vessels in your eye (thus "getting the red out") which isn't really all that good for your eyes as it can also cause the blood flow to slow as well.

i know people that get red eye all the time.. neither me or my cuzin ever get red eyes.. and i haven't been smokin for that long.. i think it varies from person to person but what do i know lol just my 2 bits l8rz

i've been smoking for about 2yrs now and I've noticed that I dont even get red eyes, just a little bit but nothing too noticeable.

Sometimes my eyes get red, normally whenever i eat hash, I have eye drops close by if needed.

My eyes get super red when i smoke. I've gotten caught many times that way... never had visene on hand...

After I smoked on a regular basis, I didn't get red eye unless I smoked a whole lot. The other week, when I broke my involuntary nonsmoking streak, I took two and a half bong rips and my eyes were lit up. I never use visine, simply because I can't put anything in my eyes. It just doesn't work. Even eye doctors have a hard time getting eyedrops in my eyes.

yes, eye drops are definately the answer here, but i have seen some people that literally get worse red eyes from any eye drop solution. sometimes i guess it just doesnt work on some people, but that is probably rare since ive only met one person like that...

/note i have tested both non-namebrand and namebrand eye drops and all of the time, the namebrand, (i.e. Visene)works noticeably smoother than non-namebrand eye drops, (i.e. Good Sense Eye Drops) which go in with a slight sting to the eye but work fine after that.

/EDIT do not buy goodsense eye drops!!

I never use eye drops i just let them be red and stoned, i thinks it looks funny, and adds to that stoned feeling.
As this is my 420's post i think ill go and make my eyes red

or use clear eyes...

what I do is chill outdoors and blow the smoke away from me so then it dont get in your eyes, seems to work all the time.. well peace
