Yeah... but that's too simple and easy. This isn't about that, it's about creativity. It should be a cylinder of ice with cool spiral twists and shit so you can see the smoke. 8)

I've used Welch's grape juice in a bong before. It didn't really effect the taste whatsoever (and that welch's is thiiiiiick, heavy duty stuff) however I think it filtered it better than water because the smoke was heavy but not harsh.

What was neat though, was that after I cleared the bong, the juice would bubble and pockets of smoke would be released and almost fill the thing up again.

neat stuff....but an utter waste of grape juice lol.

ok so im going to the store now to buy some supplies to see if i can make a cool custom ice cube for the bong

nice idea. It's a little tough to sort it all out but it seems like the best way to go is grooves on the side of an ice block. When you slide a 4 inch long block of ice with say vertical grooves cut top to bottom and deep into the block, the smoke will travel up the shafts. You want to color the ice so you can see the white smoke columns with the colored ice in between. Right so far?
I think the poster with the plastic bottle inserts was saying, if you take the concept a step further, and rather than use ice that melts, make a plastic insert that has crazy patterns on the side, and is filled with that re freezable goo. The plastic is colored so you cans still see the smoke columns.
Right?

no man... i have an ice catcher... it sits on it.. it would have to melt like all the way to the size of a pencil to fall through

If you put in a solid piece of ice into your chamber, it will obviously cause some drag. Not trying to shit on your parade, i like the idea, just giving my opinion of what i think is going happen. Ill be locking it to see how it goes.

I think that just having one of those cylindrical ice cubes with the whole through the middle would be best, but just have it be sized to the diameter of the tube...if the hole was big enough it wouldn't create much drag and it would force all the smoke through the ice. Get a few of em and layer them in your tube and you could have a ridiculously cool and smooth hit. Just my .02, it seems more simple than trying to make a diffused ice cube...

but if you could make a diffusing ice cube that would be sick
