| Official conclusion on smoking from aluminum foil
There has been alot of controversy and discussion on this toppic. but i would like to end those. i have a fact that will prove it. (please sticky) Smoking Using Aluminum Foil Most brands of aluminum foil (Renoyld’s Wrap with the anti-stick coating and similar brands being the exception), are untreated and remain 99.9% aluminum (again with the .1% being residues and other agents in the manufacturing process) In order to inhale aluminum it would have to be changed from a solid to a vapor. This requires a lot of heat. More heat than what it produced by a butane lighter. A butane lighter is not even capable of melting aluminum, if a lighter fails to melt the aluminum, it will not be able to change the aluminum into a vapor. Conclusion I put this together so individuals can make an educated decision on if they want to use aluminum foil for smoking marijuana. Full link: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/32056 |

If you hold a flame to aluminum foil it gives off smoke so it's giving off some type of chemicals. I really don't know what to think on this issue even with information like this...

I agree with your findings that Tin Foil can't actually be vaporized or burned by the heat given off by a butane lighter. However, heating up tin foil with any kind of colouring / paint on it WILL give off harmful, extremely toxic smoke.

it's nice to refresh everyone's memory of this issue because people will forget this all the time. It seems people forget that even though it's paper thin it's still metal. google search "aluminum boiling point" Aluminium — Boiling Point: 2792 K (2519 °C, 4566 °F) That has to be a damn strong torch. Anyways, if you're dumb enough to think you can inhale the vapor by all means please go ahead and stay away from it. Also for those of you that fear tin foil... Boiling Point: 2270.0 °C (2543.15 K, 4118.0 °F) |
