Signatures...Everyone Please Read!!!

These are SJ's rules about signatures. We're having to PM all members who aren't following the regulations that he established. If you would all go ahead and take care of your sigs, it will avoid you being ambushed with PM's by moderators. There are NO exceptions. We've made exceptions in the past but we can't anymore. If the signatures are not fixed after you are PM'd then the sig will be deleted.

"Signature Limits

All signatures should not exceed the following size limits and you can't have both text and images:

For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed.


For images in signatures: 1 image up to 300 pixels wide, 125 pixels tall and 20k in size

Many of our users still surf the net with a 56k dial-up modem, large signatures make it very frustrating for our members to surf the forums, not everybody has DSL or Cable, so keep that in mind with large files and image posting."

When making sigs that are dialup friendly, the file size is just as important as the image size. It may be the right size on the screen but you need to check the file size to make sure dialup people aren't going to be spending all day waiting on your sig.

Everyone just settle down. I've been trying to go by pixels when judging pics...but since you're bringing up the file size then we'll crack down even harder on the sig pics.

We're not the one that said there should be a 20k limit. Besides, you could have a pic bigger than 300x125 which comes to a smaller filesize than some moveable gifs depending on the size and number of frames.

We're the ones who were going by pixel size instead of file size. Since it is now such an issue, like I said, from now on we'll crack down even harder on sigs.

Please don't give the new moderators a hassle over this and understand that in order to make sure everyone is within their limits, it'll take some time. The easiest way to go about this is for people to act like adults and just change their sigs to regulation size.


It seems to me that what you say in your posts...your thoughts and ideas...would be more important than a pic in your signature.
