Brownie Expedition! With Pics!
Made some bomb-ass brownies this past weekend! Thought you guys would like to see some pictures of the process and all that good stuff.
![]() (In case you didn't know, you can click on the pictures for bigger images.) NOTE: I have made brownies using this method a few times in the past with absolutely great results. If anyone would like me to add a small guide for this method to my post, please feel free to let me know, though I'm sure this recipe has been posted before. EDIT: Due to requests, I've added a more comprehensive guide for all you cooking enthusiasts. Instructions in bold! Enjoy! Before you start, note that cooking brownies will make your place REAK of weed, at least until the brownies have been in the oven for some time. Prepare your cooking space accordingly. That's one ounce of headies. Yes, this is step one. You need to make sure you have enough weed! Calculate how much weed you want in each brownie. With this recipe I usually make 12 brownies per batch, but you can cut out more or less depending on how much weed you use per batch. I recommend mid-end strains for cooking with, but you can use high-end bud like I did here. Around .5 of dank weed per brownie or .7 of mids/regs will make you some nice-ass brownies. ![]() ![]() Macro? ![]() Weighed and divided. Ready the ingredients! You'll need one box of brownie mix per batch, plus weed and any other ingredients the box calls for. Remember, the most important ingredient is the oil, so make sure you find a box of mix that calls for a decent amount. I prefer the Betty Crocker kind, pictured below. ![]() This is one batch, all ground up. (6 grams to be divided amongst 12 brownies, that's .5 per brownie!) This step is pretty self-explanatory, divide and grind. The weed must be ground very finely so that you can best extract the THC into the oil. ![]() We made 4 batches that night, so we had to prepare 2 at once. This is the most important step. For each batch, the weed must be simmered in the oil for around 45 minutes. It's a bitch, but you'll need to stand over the oil almost the whole time to keep it stirring and to make sure that all the weed stays submerged in the oil. Also, MAKE SURE NOT TO LET THE OIL BOIL OR THE WEED BURN! If you see this happening, turn the flame down and remove the pan until the burning/boiling stops. The oil should be much darker once you're finished with it. It'll either be browned or a dark green. ![]() I don't have a picture for this step, but it's simple. After the weed has been simmered in the oil, simply add the oil to the mix and proceed as directed on the box to make your brownies. You might wanna run the oil through a strainer to get all the weed out, or you can just throw it all in (but if you do this you'll have weed flakes in your brownies, and they won't taste as good.) If you decide to strain the oil, make sure to press out every last bit of oil out of the weed. Remember, every little bit counts! Smell good, don't they? ![]() ![]() Make sure you cook the brownies enough. You should be able to insert a fork in the middle and pull it out clean if your brownies are done. Also, give them time to cool before cutting them so they don't fall apart. And finally, time to wrap them up for distribution and consumption! ![]() Finally, it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor! For those of you who haven't ingested weed foods before, they generally take an hour to 2 for the initial effects to be felt. From there, you'll slowly progress to your peak high, which can last for 4 hours or longer. If you want to read up on weed ingestion, visit erowid. im trying to figure that out too
![]() would scwhag work well? 10g in 12 brownies thats like .8 in each. smoking it was impossible. edit: how much oil did you use?

From a homemaker for 45 years......Use the reg olive oil or cannola oil. The other 2 olive oils are for when you want the flavor of olive oil, like in a salad, or drizzled over a meat dish last thing. Or you can use butter.....not good for the arteries or wallet, but great for flavor.
to Perpetual time - use the amount of oil the recipe or box calls for. Measure before if leaving all the weed in, measure after if using strained oil, and squeeze every bit of the oil out of the weed, save it for further adventures. Smokes r jokes, use a box mix and follow the directions. Be careful, this stuff can put you on the couch for hours wishing you thought you could walk if you could get up. My hubby thought he would use more than I said, and spent 7 or 8 hours with me laughing at him cuz he was soooo messed up and funny. He didn't however think it was funny. Olde Hippee |

Shwag is generally better for cooking with than it is for smoking, and .8 in each would probably make fine brownies. Like OldeHippee said, you use however much oil the box mix calls for. Try and get a mix that calls for more oil, like the Betty Crocker stuff I used.
