Smoking and your Future

I am just curious to see what everyones futures entail and how long you plan on smoking, personally for me I plan on smoking my whole life. For my future I plan on staying at UNCC in the Belk business of college and getting a degree in business. Not quite sure yet where I am going to end up but it will be some where. I am not a very good example as my study of interest is so broad, so everyone post up!

That's an interesting question. I stopped smoking for two years after being a pretty serious pothead, smoking daily etc. I just felt uninspired and that marijuana was getting in the way of me living my life and growing as an individual. Like that I was using it to escape from others and myself. Those two years weren't easy, not in the sense that I craved weed nonstop, but just that it was a difficult time in my life. I also lost touch with a lot of folks I had known for a long time, many of whom it seemed like my only connection with was weed. I probably would've been happier if I had continued to stay the course, smoking a lot etc, but that happiness probably would've been an illusion.

Anyways, I am rambling like a motherfucker, and to come full circle and really address the question: Maybe my whole life. Who really knows? I'm going to community college here in Durham and I'd like to transfer to Western or UNC-A, but I've got to get my shit together. I plan to smoke during this time though, and once/if I graduate from college I'd definitely like to grow my own. I've had an interest in doing that for awhile and through that I'd get better, cheaper bud and without having to be a part of the whole 'culture.' (Not trying to slam it, but it is childish and I'd like to distance myself from it once I get a career and so on).

To me it isnt really an issue if im going to give up or not.
I treat weed how it should be treated, with respect. Its almost like drinking to me. I dont do it every night because then id be classed as an alcoholic. Insted il do it maybe 2 or 3 times a week. sometimes weeks can go by without smoking. I dunno, i dont look at weed as a illegal drug, more of a treat for a hard weeks work. Dont get me wrong i love weed, but making a desission on my future on it would be like saying whats my future with alcohol.

I imagine I will give it up again when my kids get a bit older. I do not want to influence my children into smoking bud. I will probably pick it up again when they turn 18. Probably put it down in a few years when my oldest is 12? Not sure.

I can hide it fine now that they are little, don't think that will last forever though.

I didn't find out that my parents toked until I was 16, and that's only after I started. If you keep it to yourself I'm sure they won't notice, unless they already know what to look for.

As long as I can without getting obsessive or making my priorities mixed up. The job I just got hired out doesn't do drug tests (I smoked with the shift manager last night, actually) so I don't mind it now, but if I get offered a higher paying job that I want that does test, I'll drop it.

Not sure if I'd stop for my kids, but I wouldn't do it in the open obviously. Not because I don't want them to know, just because I wouldn't want them to be influenced either way.

I won't ever quite but I do cut back every now in then. Like I might smoke a ounce and half by myself in a week n a half...and have problem's getting the pleasurable body buzz high i like. Then I just stop probably for a week or at the beginning of a week until the weekend.

Weed is mentally addictive. I remember when it was dry around here I had got soooo pissed im like man there aint gone ever be weed here again and if i do find some it's gonna be dirt. And all the withdrawal symptoms piled on top of me. But now i've been sobar since sunday and haven't experienced ONE withdrawal symptom.

Weed don't have a adverse effect on my life so I don't mind staying high til I die lol. I mean if i end up being old with very bad lungs i will quite. But I doubt that because i don't smoke cigs or blacks and never did.

that shit is so right. thats like how i smoke now but i thought i was gonna have to quit when i got a career or whatever. but if u put it this way then u never have to give it up. its like a reward for when u really need it haha

I look at my friends uncles, who both still smoke and there in their 50, and realize that its possible to smoke almost your whole life(if it still is illegal). But truthfully I dont know if Ill be able to, family can sometimes get in the way of that, and I would choose family of pot any day.

I don't plan on ever giving up smoking mj, but then again you can never plan for most things in life. I do wonder sometimes what blazing will be like once I get older. Will I still smoke with friends, same connects? etc lol

A surprisingly deep question, I'll give you that.

I've always envisioned myself as an old man, you know, with long white hair and a scraggly beard sitting on the deck of a nice big house with a glass of cold orange juice in hand and a joint in the other. I don't know, cliche' I know, but when I get old and useless I want to at least age the rest of my years in the way I lived; in the moment. ^^

I suppose if I were ever to have a son or daughter I would stop for a good while, at least a couple or few years. Maybe a little now and then, but not to the degree at which I currently do...which now that I think about it isn't that much. Huh, there's a brain tickler.

I've always wanted to maintain that I wouldn't let pot mess my life up if I really got into it, kinda like if you decide to start drinking and think, "Okay, just don't make it a problem and become an alcoholic."

Haha, I remember me and my friend Dan (Taught me how to smoke) were sitting around one day smoking a bong I had made (REAL nice one too) and he goes, "Dude...imagine if we were like old, and I just randomly found this in the attic one day and called you up and said, 'Hey Bro! Guess what I found? The old Baseball-bong!'?"

God, that made me crack up, I think I ended up saying something like, "Oh sweet! I'll bring over some Space Weed I just got not ten minutes ago!"

I'd like that to happen. ^^
