OK, well I am saying the government could tax it, and some day it will. But the people in office, have been in office for years, and many of them finally dying and getting out are from the reefer madness generation. Plus elected officials cater to lobbyist, and many of them do not want to see MJ made legal.

Yet they let millions of americans die from something they keep legal(ciggarettes). They could stop those deaths by making it illegal. Will they ever? No they won't because they make a hell of a alot of money off of it.

You can't compare the two, because in 1920, when alcohol was first made illegal, there was already a huge industry backing it. Even with that industry it took 13 years before the prohibition was lifted.

Well they could make a lot of money taxing weed. Wouldn't it be cool if the taxation of MJ goes down in history as what saved the US this time?? We are going to need a lot of new tax money to get us out of the whole we have dug.

Yeah i know what your saying, but i just dont understand how the government would just suddenly find a way to tax it. And when i say tax i mean, if i met with you somewhere and i gave you 100$ how would they make profit from they couldn't. They can't tax it in that way.

Yes they could make money taxing it but they couldn't get every dollar possible from other dealer to dealer tranactions. And the government is so god damn greedy and even though they make all the fucking money they can't cut anyone a fucking break.

But don't get me wrong legalizing weed would be one the best moments in my life and everyone here on grasscity. It would be the new amsterdam.

Because, if legal, for the most part, people won't bother with dealers. They will go to Walmart and buy their weed.

Why the hell would I bother tracking down a dealer, if I can just go into a store and buy some?

Sure, some people will grow it, sell it, but for the most part people would buy it in a store.

I am sure there are some great dealers out there, but not many can hold a candle to walmarts 24 hours service, lol.

Well yes i agree with you on that, but honestly in the governments eyes thats not enough. They need every last dollar from weed as they can if theres some dealers. It won't happen. They're just to greedy.

But think about it. What is stopping you from brewing your own beer?? Selling it to your freinds? Nothing, but most people don't do this, they get their beer from the store, and pay a tax on it.

The old way of getting your bud from a dealer wouldn't last long. Big time growers could grow more, and sell cheaper than your local guy.
