Tsunami vs Hurricane

I own a Tsunami and it is my favorite pipe in my collection. I know it isn't the original but I don't care because it is the same thing for much less. I bought it from a store my friend owns and he explained to me why he is selling Tsunami and has discontinued selling Hurricane. Hurricane and Tsunami are both made from Schott Glass, not Pyrex. They are made the exact same way. The 2 differences are that the Tsunami comes from Arizona and the company supports American Glass Blowers and the wholesale price is like 2/3rds less than Hurricane. Making it affordable for guys like me that wanted a Hurricane but can't spend over $500 on a bong. Hurricane Co. uses one distributor in Long Island, NY to sell to all of the stores in the US. He puts a ridiculous markup on them and that is why they are so expensive. Hurricane is a great pipe but people shouldn't have to pay those exorbitant prices for them.

Tsunami = Hurricane

YES, believe it or not just like ROOR and Lux, Tsunami is the AMERICAN version of the Hurricane (not a cheap knockoff).

Hurricanes are ONLY made in AUSTRIA, and imported through a distributor. Prices on Hurricanes are also artificially higher because imports of bongs get raided ALL the time (which drives up cost).

Tsunamis are made in America by a small amount of specific blowers. Hurricane, wanting to maintain it's high price only issued a handful of licenses (about 5) nationwide. So Tsunamis are not rip offs. Tsunamis are made identically to Hurricanes. Same glass, same technique, it's the exact same thing.

So yeah, in the end:

TSUNAMI = MADE IN USA

HURRICANE = MADE IN AUSTRIA
