How marijuana helps – Marijuana provides a great service for my illness, it suppresses the main disadvantages of having TS. People with TS have what are called “tics” which are sudden uncontrollable movements, these range from motor tics to oral tics (such as twitching eyes, humming, repeating words, touching yourself, coughing, sniffling, and many more). When using marijuana I experience far less tics as well as less anxiety. Over the years my TS has been sporadic some months its ok some months it sucks. I think that TS is a lot worse the more you think about it, and marijuana definitely provides a way to get out from under its grasps. I feel as though I am a lot more “normal” when under the influence of marijuana as it gives me a time to relax and not be bothered by these tics.

Drugs offered by doctor – Klonopins

Negatives of drugs offered – Klonopins are offered by doctors because they too suppress tics because they naturally calm you down. The key difference here is the fact of the negative side effects of Klonopins. It increases your chance of having kidney disease and liver disease. It also makes you feel tired and out of it all the time, it suppresses hunger, VERY addictive, you can not drive or operate machinery so you might as well not count on going to work if this is your choice of drug.

Why marijuana is better suited – Allows me to live my life a lot more normally, has same effects but does not limit what I can do. Marijuana does not suppress hunger, and its always a lot less addictive.

Life before and after marijuana – Before smoking marijuana the constant stress of having TS was constantly on my mind, I would not go an hour with out wondering why I had to deal with this syndrome. I felt like life was horrible a lot of the time just because I couldn’t go through a movie with out almost passing out from the stress (movie theatres suck because everyone can hear you tic).

After smoking marijuana I have had a lot less “bad” months and a lot more just relaxing and enjoying life. I feel like if this drug can help me this much there is no reason in the world why I should not be allowed to use it in a responsible manner.
