I'm sure this doesn't apply to everyone, but from my experience I've found some things to be true regarding my body and marijuana tolerance:
If I smoke constantly, like 5 times a day, I build a tolerance that is noticeable within a month. I don't mean I don't get high anymore, I mean I may have to take a few extra hits, and most often, I don't stay high as long as I did originally.
If I smoke crappy weed, I build a tolerance to it in a relatively short period of time too, and in order to stay high, I have to smoke pretty steadily.
If all I do is rip monster bong hits all day, smoking a bowl can become a pointless exercise.
My solution? I try not to smoke crappy pot, and I don't take bong hits exclusively.
