Identifying weed

I pick up from many different friends in many different cities, the stuff always looks a little different. I have seen lists of different strands but surely these are too confusing to the general smoking population. Is there a chart of different types with pictures? I want to identify the different types I am getting. Because sometimes I hear "afghan, spice haze, master kush, blueberry kush" stuff like that. How do you know what kind of weed you are really smoking? I am sure this is a general NOOB question so dont flame please but help a brotha out.

Simply put you cannot. It's not like a model of car or anything. Unless you know the grower, or are close to someone that knows the grower, and you or they know they had legit seeds or clones, you don't know.

to be honest you cant really tell any strains apart *easily*

just remember that its JUST a name.
