What size hand pipe gets you highest?

So I'm finally having to part ways with my bong. Lately I've been smoking my gf's pipe and it's surprisingly more effective and efficient than my bong. I'm looking to get one of my own now. I haven't smoked out of very many pipes so I don't have a basis of comparison. Generally speaking, what size of pipe gets you highest?

I've found that no matter the size it's how you hit it.

I have a pipe the size of my palm that I get huge hits out of (I also break up my weed first)
to get a hit that's mostly smoke with a minimum of air do this:

break up the weed so it holds a cherry better (when your weed cherries you get fatter hits, trust me)
Light it enough to get a cherry going
then put your fingers over the bowl to restrict air flow (Not completely just enough so there a sharp stream of air getting through) this basically makes the weed burn hotter giving off more smoke; plus there's less air getting through so you're getting a better smoke:air ratio.
