here is my situation . I have been caught smoking once. My mom wasnt too happy but didn't do anything, just told me to stop. And I think my dad is pretty chill with it because I think my mom told him to tell me to just not smoke. This was a couple months ago. But now my dad has got a new job and has started using chewing tobacco again, my mom hates him doing it. My question is will weed help you quit using tobacco? I see this as a chance for me to get to my parents to be cool with me smoking if weed will help my dad quit.

It might help if you smoke cigarettes, but I don't think it'll do much for your dad..plus, it's never a good idea to replace one habit with another.

Thing is, weed doesn't have to turn into a habit.

It doesn't have to but it can. I think if anything cigarette and weed go hand in hand and one doesn't help you quit the other. I know plenty of people who prefer to smoke cigarettes right after smoking weed because the buzz is higher is something like that.

I think the best way to get your parents to be cool about it, is to just gather all the facts and talk to them about it. I think if you prove you are responsible and there are no negatives to you smoking they will be cool about it (your mom seems like she cool about it if she didn't get mad the first time). Otherwise just be more careful so they won't catch you.

When i smoke weed all i can think about after is having a cig. I always have a cig every time i finish smoking. So from my experience the answer is now.

Well, since the basic side effects of not getting your nicotine are being crabby and unhappy, weed would help with that. It would also satisfy the smoking aspect of things. And I don't think switching from an addictive habit to a nonaddictive one is a bad thing... If I had an open mind and was addicted to nicotine, I'd consider it...

Maybe weed + Nicotine patches, but any smoker will tell u when you want your nicotine nothing will replace it.

I have quit my habit of smoking tobacco for...fucking...like, a long while. And the only time I ever crave for a ciggy is when I'm dry on bud. And yes, weed, helped me keep off tobacco.

i used to be addicted to grits and i started smokin bud nonstop but still smoked grits then slowly started smokin less n less grits n just bud and now i dont do it at all

I'm not sure if this helps but..
I often smoke fags / rollups because it helps me get into the state of mind that weed puts me into - ah fuck it, its too hard to explain

But i don't see much harm in sugesting it to your dad, hopefully it'll make them relax about you smoking pot. good luck anyway

i smoke cigs and it seems like every time i smoke weed i crave a cigarette, it might just be that ive always smoked one after i blaze

This thread reminds me, I don't think I can get addicted to cigarettes. I just started smoking when I drank several months ago and that progressed to me smoking a pack in three days several weeks ago. Well then I went like 6 days without weed or cigs, then I got a pack and smoked it in four days, then I went six more days with no cigs and only weed half the time. I drove by the gas station several times during this and just never had the urge to buy a pack.

I got a pack last night for if I drink tonight, but the one I smoked last night was just meh, wasn't like oh my God, I needed that after the break. I guess as long as I keep it in control, I'll be fine. I also have several relatives who pretty much quit their first time trying, so it must be in my genes...
