Driving while high

I have read in many different articles one even from the AHA (American Health Association) that being high does not effect your driving ability.

I used to drive high everyday of my life, until one day I was so high and laughing with my friends that I blew a stop sign and T-boned some one. No one was hurt because of my stupidity just of bills for me to pay. I am not saying that being high was the sole cause of my accident but it didn't help the situation much.

Since then I have been too scared to drive high except like 3 times when I had to, I wish I could be like I used to be and drive all the time because it really sucks being high and not able to go places when your by yourself.

Any advice?

Just try to remember its all in your head. If you think your gonna be high and not paying attention or too scared, chances are you will be.

Just remember you know how to drive fine, and try to turn the high more into something to help you drive better

If you smoke cig's that also helps calm anything haha

I don't think being high had to do with impairing your vision did it? So obviously you weren't paying attention to the road, thats all. I blew a stop sign on my first driving test and failed and I wasn't high. It happen. Just got to get over that fear and know that your confident with your driving. Shit, I drive down the highway with a bowl in one hand, lighter in the other, and steering with my knee and haven't gotten one driving violation or gotten into one accident. Not that i'm advertising to do this. I can just drive the shit of out my car. lol

don't think of it as "driving while high" think of it as, high......then decided to take a drive. if its a chore to drive stoned for you find something that makes it more enjoyable.

See I have a system in my car and I used to just get high and we all roll out and blast music and goto a drive thru, but I just get lost now when I drive like I forget to look for normal stuff and I dont think about the stuff I usually do, I don't know how to explain it but it sucks so bad I just want to drive and bump again lol.

Yea, I know what you mean but you still got to pay attention. Just know that you are high so you can compensate for the short attention span.

I don't know why some people are so worried to drive high... seriously man, you got in one accident and it was because you weren't watching the road. Just be relaxed, be chill, and don't think about the fact that your high because you'll overcompensate for it and it'll fuck your driving up. Just think how you always think when you drive, I gotta get someplace, what's the fastest route there, etc.

I drive while high all the time. It is all in your head, which was mentioned. Just remember that your mind is in a different state, and the only way you'll mess up is if you let yourself. Stay calm and focused, and you'll be fine

I'm always more relaxed when I drive high, it is my preferred driving method.

Basically just pay attention to all the DA's on the road, should be fine.

It's not for everyone, and I don't recommend it to anyone. However some people can drive impaired and some people simply cannot. It is a personal decision, and those that can generally always get away with it, unless they run across some real bad luck.

Anyways for me, I've been driving and smoking for years now. I drive a sports car (mazda rx-8), and I am a competent, mature driver. I'm only 20 about to turn 21, but I do not think age or driver experience has much to do with it. I have been driving for 6 years and owned 6 cars so far, but yea. It's one of those things that you just start getting into a routine / habit with. For some people this comes natural, as with driving, and it is completely safe. With other people, where driving to begin with takes heightened focus, smoking weed may be very detrimental and dangerous.

So here's my 2 cents: smoking and driving should be illegal because it is dangerous. but the people who do it (including myself) who are efficient, competent, non-dangerous drivers when high will never get caught in the first place (except for bad luck).

What do you mean you have had a bust time? I have a sports car too but it's the only car I have evry had. I think thats rediculous. How did you pay for all those cars?

I've only been driving for about 2 years, a little less, and I've had 4 cars dude. If you know where to go, or can find good deals it's easy to get cars. Oh and just for your info, heres the four cars I've had and what happened to them -_-

1. 2001 Pontiac Grand Am - Front tire blew out while I was on interstate, car wrecked
2. 1997 Buick Regal LE - Gave to my parents when their Mazda Protege conked out on them for good
3. 1999 Saturn - Gave to a friend's mother(she had gone through a divorce and her p.o.s. car was done, I was good friends with him and his mom so I gave her the car for dirt cheap).
4. 1993 Mazda Miata - This one was my fault, was doing 360s in it(just to fuck around cuz I was bored) and one time it just didn't work out well lol

Yea, I see where our comming from but thats still a lot of cars to go through. LOL, what do you mean didn't work out well? My friends do this all the time in empty parking lots. Did you hit a pole or something?
