Smoking pot continually a weird experience...should I give it up?

Ok, so mixed responses...some say it's aways like this, it'll get better, and other comments saying that I'm too prone to anxiety and that I'll never enjoy it. Hm.

Yeah, it's not that I'm trying to "force" myself to like it or caving in to peer pressure. I just want to make an educated decision about smoking it is all.

The first time (and judging by the similar experiences, probably all 3 times) I was smoking pretty good stuff; they said KB. I actually had eight hits the first night (some from a roach, some shotgunned, and finally some good ones from a bong), which got me pretty fucked up. I was actually really enjoying myself, until some crazy drunk girl locked me in a bathroom and started saying crazy shit. That's when I got paranoid and insane. For a first time, I guess that was a lot to smoke and an intense experience. I am thinking it's because my poor first time put me in a bad frame of reference that I keep getting similar feelings - the third time, I even had serious deja vu (ex. I went into a bedroom and had a flashback to the bathroom, etc.). All three times were at parties in unfamiliar houses, with unfamiliar people.

Maybe if I just stick to taking hits from a joint until I build up some tolerance, with a few good friends in a nice quiet place with some chill music, the experience will be better? (Like some people suggested). I think it's interesting that a lot of people say their first few times were like this, and then it got better. And that the environment has a lot to do with what you start feeling. I guess that's why I keep giving it another go. I don't want to think that that one bad experience totally destroyed my chances of ever enjoying pot haha.

(But yeah I have decided NEVER to do anything like shrooms or acid or a more powerful hallucinogen. I would seriously go insane, I'm sure.)

pretty much the exact same thing happened to me the first couple times, its well described as a dream, and its not exactly real, yet it is and you keep telling yourself that it is. I got REALLY paranoid and wacky, and i wanted to go back to "real life". All that is over now though, as soon as you get used to it you will start to love it, and you wont get paranoid.

look dog, pot is an amazing drug, and apparently you need to smoke less to work your way up so start off smoking a joint maby. I remember the first time I got high, I ate a who batch of hash brownies(they took three ounces of weed made it into hash oil then added it to two batches of brownies). After eating a whole batch I was higher than I have ever been in my life, I was so high that I woke up the next day high ass shit the whole day. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life and one of the most eye opening experience I ever had.

My advice is either to go lightly on the weed, or go balls to the wall on the shit.

this is one of the main reasons i tend to smoke alone. it's the only time i can truly enjoy being high. definitely seek some sort of outlet for when you are high. music, games, etc.

ive had a few events like yours happen when ive been high around people - not fun, but i still found it interesting to see what pot does to my mind.

Yeah that's another reason why I'm still interested in smoking.

My experiences haven't been fun, but they've certainly been interesting...
