What is it with people thinking Lil Wayne is such an amazing rapper? I'm not saying he's horrible but I definitely would not refer to him as the "best rapper alive".. Am I missing something?

I like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop, D12, Jay-Z, Tech N9neeeee to name a few..

Only the old rap is good, but that's just because its poetry. To an extent. Then it just gets ridiculous.

Today's rap? I don't like it. The only thing I like about any of that type of music (sometimes) is the beat. EVEN STILL, that gets old after 2 minutes of the same high-pitched synthesized melody looping over and over and over and over. I need more variety than thugs, ass, bitches, 40's and repetitive beats. Sorry. Hate all you want.

Rap is fun to listen to. I usually only listen to it for laughs though, considering a lot of mainstream rap is, in fact, laughably terrible. But you know what they say "guilty pleasures often simply become pleasures....".
