What if marijuana was never prohibited?

Yesterday I was watching Totally Baked with my friend and a thought came to mind, do you think the economy and environment would be better if marijuana was never made illegal?
I was thinking this because what if we never used fossil fuels to power our cars and heat our homes, instead we used hemp fuel? What if we didn't have to cut down trees to make paper, instead making it out of hemp? It'd be really interesting to see. Things would be so different..

Weed seems legal to me. I could care less if it is or isn't. Only thing that would make it good being legal is knowing you will never deal with crooked cops over little sacks! But..I usually blow at my house or around my house so idc. And I got bluntpowder so when I ride and smoke and a police stop me he'd never smell it.

the world would be a totally different place. i'm sure we'd[they'd] still find things to fight about though, and people to turn into bad guys.

a great question, friend.

in the end, though, we'd still only be cutting down trees.

it'd be a much better society, spend a couple of weeks in Amsterdam and see how relaxed and natural it is to have coffeeshops in your communities. The DEA says it'll destroy society but in reality it's just no big deal.

WAY BETTER. not only because weed is awesome and smoking it makes life good.

industrial hemp would stop most paper production, and most cotton production. no more bleach from paper refineries ( hemp fiber is naturally white and can be whitened more with harmless peroxide, no chemicals dumped into the environment, no deforestation), and no more pesticides from cotton (50 % of world pesticides are form cotton, hemp needs barley any, if any at all)

hemp plastic is stronger than oil plastic and is it BIODEGRADABLE and it doesnt include all these nasty chemicals in oil plastic that are giving kids autism and other disorders. no more trash in landfills.

hemp can be used to make just about anything, and it is always better for the environment and does not include harmful chemicals.
When the deisel enginge was first made, it was designed to run on hemp oil, it still can. or any other vegetable oil. but hemp oil has less emissions than regular veg oil and it is easier to produce. most veg. powered cars get anywhere from 30-60 MPH, about what most hybrids get.

smoking weed is awesome, but its biggest impact would be on the environment, it could change the world if people are willing to legalize weed (or at least hemp).

BUY HEMP, SMOKE WEED, BE HAPPY

if it had never been prohibited, all of recorded history would be the same prior to 1937.

it's not that big of a difference, except that we could go on with our lives without demonstrating and marching and protesting and whatnot

oh yeah and you could buy it off a shelf

thanks for all the feedback blades! I mean of course there would be downsides because there probably wouldnt be a grasscity =[! or NORML, and of course no protests or anything and [maybe] the environment would be healthier.
