It's been done at least once. I don't have the link, but the article was posted in another forum. If memory serves.....

About 10 years ago, a geneticist with the University of Florida had his family's car seized when his 16 year old son was busted for possession. He tried to get the car back, but wasn't successful. So in revenge, he modified some orange trees so that the oranges had THC in them . He was selling them on the internet until the DEA gave him a cease-and-desist order.

I think that article was actually fake. On the snopes.com board, someone mentioned that "the “Pot Orange” story is a product of South to the Future, a phony news service that’s somewhat Onionesque"

yeah thanks for the link. very interesting but i'm guessing most of the biochemical speak in it is fabricated. like the process they give to actually achieve this.
