Is it a good idea to break up weed all at once?

i was thinking i would break all of my weed up at once
so like an 1/8th of just broken up ready to go weed
so when i roll blunts i wont have to sit there and break it up
is there any disadvantage to breaking up the weed in advance
or is it better to break it up right before you smoke it?

Stays potent longer if you leave it in buds.
Kinda like the minute steak idea. Thinner cooks faster.

people who smoke a lot will usually have a good amount broken up, usually in the grinder. this keeps it readily available for packing/rolling when you need a bowl pronto! however, as highly said i do believe it stays potent longer when in bud form, but if you just break up enough for the day or w/e it's going to have the same effect

I like to break down my 8ths because I know their not gonna last more then a a few days anyways...i always break down some of my mids because its annoying to deal with seeds and stems when you're out.

Depending on how long you leave it broken up and how you store it. It can affect potency not to much, but it can. That's because all the thc is within the trichromes and when you break it up you loosen that crystal from what's keeping it tied down so it can float away, if you keep it contained though it's no problem. I often break up a lot at once and put it right in this magnetic box that has a screen in it and then another magnectic piece attached to the bottom with a glass sheet that the crystal collects on. Good for homemade hash or crystal bowls and joints. (crystal=kief for any who use that term)
