Now I don't know much/anything about airport security (other than from a passengers perspective of course) but it seems to me that you're making it way too suspicious. If they were to X-ray the candle and realize that there is "something" inside of course they're going to open it.

Seems to me you'd be better off just putting a sack in your suitcase (hidden of course.) Yeah if they x-ray it they may see it. I think there's a very very good chance they wouldn't. I mean really they cannot possibly ID everything in a suitcase through X-ray. They are just looking for things that look like bombs or weapons (ie things that are METAL and would stand out from the rest of your clothes and shit.) You're better off not making a potentially suspicious-looking candle, I would think.

Of course the smartest option is to not even risk it. Just fly into the airport that I live right next to and meet up with me.

the puffer won't pick up some pills or things like that because there are not particles on you. However, it might pick up weed, even wore if the backscatter xray which shows the scanner a picture of you naked, and anything that might be on you

You could always go to the airport, go into your termial, see what they are using to screen people, and if someone questions you say you thought it was arrivals.

i had a friend that did almost that except he took out like half of the peanut butter in the jar put the weed in a bag put it in the jar and covered it with the pb again. it worked

ok idk if this helps but my friend brought an 1/8 back home from mexico in the bottom of a deoderant stick thing. and yes we passed dogs. who smell checked our stuff.
