I've never had a good experience with wooden pieces, and I've owned two. One was this crazy Transformer-type monstrosity that could work as a chillum, two different kinds of pipes, and a "bubbler". I put the quotation marks in there because the day after I tried putting water in the chamber all of the glue got messed up and the thing started to fall apart. Eventually all I had left was the chamber, which makes a pretty nice stash case. It got thrown out not too long ago 'cause I wasn't using it.
My other wooden pipe...well, it's not QUITE wooden, but used wood resin. Very cool looking thing, but after a few days of blazing the bowl fell out (it had a seperate metal bowl), and I've yet to fandangle it into something usable. It's currently taking up space in my backpack. In short, wooden pipes suck. Tobacco pipes with metal/ceramic bowls, however, do not, except for the fact that they require more cleaning than your usual glass piece. I've got a pretty nice one that I call BGOT, named after the conversation me and the guy at the headshop had while I was buying it. He was like "I love this pipe, 'cause you can say anything and so long as you're holding it right you can sound intelligent." Then he picked up the piece, gestured like your classic 50s all-American father, and said "Did you know, that bacon, grows on trees?". I bought it immediately, and it was dubbed Bacon Grows On Trees, or BGOT for short ('BGOT' is pronounced as 'bigot')

ive got a glass piece too(and actually had it first), but they both have their benefits. the wood pipe is great for social smokes if i cant roll a blunt cuz i can fit a solid 2 grams in their and it stays cherried much more easily and longer(than glass). it also hits smoother/cooler than the glass piece. yea it gets clogged a lil easier but its nothing a paper clip cant handle. plus the flavor of the pipe is nice too
glass pipe is definatly more aesthetic, but ppl are definatly impressed when they see either one Last edited by tormentedimp : 04-11-2008 at 09:41 PM. Reason: typo |

i think i have the same pipe. the foldy pipe? got little bands on the sides to keep it together and folds in half. yeah, i like that pipe. those pipes have nice deep bowls. mine has a peace sign on the side, even. i've had it for about a year and half now and it's still as nice as it was the day i bought it.

Eventually you do have to replace it with a new wood pipe.I like them, I've been through a few. They are cheap, don't break and easy to ditch. |
