What would you tell someone who has no idea what a marijuana plant looks or smells like (believe it or not) if they asked you, "what are those plants you're growing?", and this person would be very upset if you told them the truth? TIA

Haha that reminds me of a story of my best friend's mom... when she was young, she grew weed at home. One day for some reason, a police officer came to the house for something unrelated. He asked what the plants were and she said "jatropha." When the officer was leaving he just says, "Ok Ms. _______, you have 3 days to get those "jatropha" plants out of the house. Have a nice day."
And that was that.

Last month Detective Jarrod Shivers was killed raiding a house that had been identified as being used for growing marijuana. The plants in question were actually Japanese maple trees. Because of the federal marijuana prohibition one person died and another will be tried for murder.

the only reason this raid ever happened is that some idiot mistook Japanese Maple trees for marijuana. That's all it took. There are no safeguards built into the drug war to prevent this type of thing. If you call in a suspected marijuana grow, you are assumed to be a botanist capable of accurately identifying plants. Police will even risk their lives to investigate your idiotic claims.

when you grow marijuana, does the plant have distinctive mj smell? like, if i were to grow it in a small garden, would people notice the smell when they walk by?

they could probably smell it within 3 or 5 feet. It depends on the season, strain, and distance of people walking by. it's cannabis so it's gonna smell like cannabis:smoking:

Yea, I see your point but if the guy knew he wasn't growing marijuana then he didn't have to murder, so murder is murder in this case he could of just stated it wasn't marijuana. Wow that is fucked up and showing up like that unannouced like a intruder no wonder the cop got killed, made the wrong move and you might get shot which is the case, and its not working end it, getting other neighbors to turn on each other. The person that snitched basically got the cop killed, if i did that shit I think I would kill myself and cops should take what people say with a grain of salt..its not only not kool to snitch but it could get you killed or friend or even a cop.
