Some tips on how to convince...

Hello grasscity i am at a dilemma.

As many of you have tried in the past, i also am trying to convince my parents about the lack of dangers of ganj.

I am a responsible 18 year old who is on his way to college, holds a steady job, has decent grades (nothing lower than a c, maybe an occasional d on an interim but u get it), and quite level headed.

After much intense debate there only seems to be one obstacle in my path for the quest of parental acceptance.

My parents are convinced that if you start smoking ganj, then it will "ruin your life"
My parents say they can cite (and have done so) numerous people who they know whos life has gone to the shits because of pot.

How can i convince them that
1. Pot dosnt do that to you unless your a fucking fiend or you are unfortunate enough to get caught
2. they are probably fucking with other things (coke, meth, white lady) that DOES fuck your life up

A quote:
"Do you know _______ and _______? Well, their son graduated high school with the top math score in the entire school. He went to college and started smoking pot and ended up dropping out, and now he works at an ICE CREAM shop! Just think of where he would be without pot?"

I know it sounds kind of ludicrous and biased but there was really nothing i could say to this.

Any suggestions?

Just prove them wrong. When u go off to college get good grades and let them kno that pot is not making ur life go down the toliet.

... all I can say is this

I was 22 when I started smoking ... I own my home and I hold down a full time job and a part time job. I budget for my smoke just like food and other things. If I don't have the funds I don't smoke. My parents don't know that I smoke cuz it's none of there business.

If you are old enough to make your own then do so .... if not listen to your parents they only want to keep you save and healthy, and as far as they are concerned by not letting you smoke they are.

You're living proof its not that bad... Tell them you've been smoking for years, and that it hasn't stopped you from holding a job, keeping decent grades etc. Thats something they cant argue with...

Ya, if you're 18 and YOU know that smoking pot isn't going to affect your grades, then just keep smoking. If you made it through high school with decent grades, college shouldn't be that different. Just don't talk to your parents about it if you want them off your nuts. As long as you know that you can do it responsibly, you'll be fine.
