Has marijuana lead you to other drugs?

Only psychedelics, brother. Shrooms and cid, though I've been itching for some DMT.

Some would consider this the gateway effect. I don't, because these dealers have plenty of other substances that I've seen and even watched others take, and there's been no temptation of indulgence for me at all.

Nope.

When I discovered the world of recreational drugs, I established some guidelines.

Never, ever going to do coke. The price alone deterred me, much less the risks. o.o

Heroin... I'm not into needles. At all. Ever.

Meth... I want to keep my teeth.

Ecstasy, I've thought about a lot, but I've never been too into pill form drugs, just a stereotype I've never liked, I guess. But I haven't completely ruled it out for a once in a while thing. I'd never take it on the regular basis I use weed though... :bongin;

Salvia I tried a couple times, and that was OK, but again.. not something I could do on a regular basis.


Weed's the cheapest "bang for your buck" recreational drug that's legally available. What can I say, it's not too little, not too much, but just right!

As for me I prefer to keep it natural.. Salvia, Bud, Shrooms and whatnot.. FUCK all those dissasociatives though. I'm going to stay the fuck away from opiates and coke and anything that requires a needle. However I've dabbled into 2C-I and would probably try LSD and some other psycadelics once or twice. I just started smoking a few months ago, and before I thought I would never try any other drug, but now I want to try shrooms, acid, and ecstacy, so to me it definitely is. It just opened up the whole world of drugs to me.

Yup, I tried salvia shortly after weed (fun, but a little too intense for my tastes -- we used 120x and I don't think I'd ever want to use any that strong again) ... and shrooms probably aren't too far off for me. I'd be very surprised if I ever did anything else though...

Maybe LSD when I'm an old man, just because that'd be so goddamn funny.

But coke, opiates, pills? Never.

My thoughts on ecstasy: "It's the best feeling EVER," is the most common description I get of it's effects, and to be quite honest that's what deters me. We're meant to feel happy when something wonderful in our lives happens, but to experience chemical happiness in pill form seems like a bastardization of the natural order... I think the high from ecstasy is something which has serious potential to cheapen genuine happiness. I don't want to one day hold my newborn son in my arms and look into the eyes of the woman I love more than anything in the world and think "Wow, this is amazing--but not quite as good as the time I did EX.)

Just something to think about, for those of you considering trying it. The feeling from ecstasy is a chemical response that is naturally obtainable, so why not just go live your life in ways that will make you feel it naturally? It'll be a hell of a lot more meaningful that way.


Anyway, I don't think it's just marijuana that is a gateway drug. I think whichever drug you try first will make you curious about others, regardless of what it is. It just so happens that most people try weed first.

Perfect way of putting it. I had heard so much bad stuff about pot until I smoked it and researched it on my own. Then I was curious about other recreational drugs like shrooms and acid and wondered how much of what I knew was all bullshit propoganda which 99% was.

Pot for me isn't a "gateway" drug to harder drugs, only an eye opener to the bullshit that the media feeds you.
