job and dt's ???

has anyone here ever had a job for the city? as in the city you live in? i'm pretty sure i'm going to be able to get a job this summer for the city doing maintenance or some sort of outdoor work. my question is im pretty pretty sure their going to drug test, but how far will the go if they do since its a city job? i figured theyd just do a ua for pot and other varios drugs but my mom was yellin at me today for smoking a cigarette becasue she said theyd screen you for everything and if they did a niccotine test they wouldnt want to give me health insurance so they wouldnt hire me. is any of this true?

Don't know I know that if you work for the federal Government then you can't be DT by law . Not sure if its the same for state you would have to look it up

You will probably just have to do a simple urine test. I highly doubt it will be screening for nicotine, however, when you do all the paper work shit to activate your health insurance, they may ask you if you smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol or do any drugs. If they find out that you lied about one of those things (or anything else), they don't have to cover you. Also, I'm not sure how health insurance will be provided through the city (if you get a discounted rate or if they take a percentage of your check or what), but however they do it, smoking cigarettes or drinking or doing any drugs will all increase the amount you pay for coverage.
