Marijuana and ADHD

I have ADD and I do take the adderall because without it I don't do shit for school. (This started before I started smoking so it wasn't because of weed.) However the Addy keeps me up really late so I use weed to dial myself back down.

I have been smoking from senior year on and I have had the most intelligent discussions of my life while I was high. I do however seperate herb and school, smoking makes me less motivated to do schoolwork because it is dull and mind numbing.

I't's definitely not adhd or add, I have no problem with my attention span, I can sit and read multiple books in one sitting over hours. Other than that the simmilarities (sp?) between our situations are uncanny. I think to much before bed, sometimes for hours. I barely passed high school, Mostly due to lazyness not to lack of intelligence (i took an intelligence test through the college i was enrolled in and i ended up with 90s and 80s over 8 various categories as well as two 99's, you should have seen the counsellers face when this skinny stoner kid got those kind of scores). I went to college to be a chef and ended up smoking all the time to cope with the mind numbing boredom before dropping out of the program. Now i smoke a little everyday and I'm going back to highschool in order to get enough university credits to get into General biology at either U.W.O. or laurentian University in ontario.

Actually, i think the classification for add and adhd are too broad and people end up on these psychoactive drugs designed to suppress these urges, which do more harm than good. I've known kids who i would say have adhd and others who have been classified adhd and they are completely different. any kid on a sugar rush could be classified adhd. I have almost all the symptoms for add, due to lack of motivation, my own introverted nature, and too much caffeine.

p.s. sorry if im a little unclear about anything i said about adhd, i have trouble getting my point across in alot of situations

p.p.s. this post makes no sense, half bio/half rant/half post script. Im posting it anyways because i spent 20 minutes figuring this badboy out, and by-golly when i put in that much effort to a post, it's going to go up

I go 2 a college in georgia and adderal helps me so much in school. I work 40hrs a week as a customer service rep for a call center and go to school full time. Without adderall I procastinate all the time and do my homework at the last moment. Taking adderall helps me with my adhd and helps me focus. It's like you want to learn everything and pay attention, I may start cleaning my room, I can work out longer and harder it's crazy. Ne ways adderall is the truth. I use to not like it because it made me act differently but I love it now.

I have ADD and ADHD as well as epilepsy. Marijuana calms me down a bunch. The only bad part is laziness, but I can change that and be motivated pretty easily it's just the choice I choose.

Can you post some recipes up? I'd love to make some ganja food with some of this herb I have.

I have ADD to and can tell you that weed is the best medicine. Dont get cought up in the world of speed. Slow your roll with a joint or two before class and just try to actually focus. What a plant!!

ADHD really sucks for me, i take Focalin and that stuff just sucks and the worst part is im on probation and and cant smoke so weed really cant help me out. I hope Ohio gets a medical marijuana law passed that way everything will just be legal, or California doesnt sound to bad either........but good post +rep

It's great to hear this. I know exactly what it's like. And I use marijuana in somewhat the same way. But instead of eating it I smoke maybe a quarter of a bowl pack and get started on my homework at night. I become soo motivated.


I'm fine during the day. I just take my prescribed adderral. But I feel that smoking is more effective. If I could smoke at school I would.

Yep. It's sad that we have to pay so much money for a few grams of it. Thanks to prohibition.

The key is really not smoking a lot at once, but a little bit at a time over a long period of time.
