smoking and usage

Disclaimer: Smoking out of anything plastic can cause negative
health effects. Inhaling the fumes can be dangerous, so feel
free to use something other than a plastic bottle (glass bottle
if you can do it...coconut (that's how I made my first Apollo),
etc).

Here's what you'll need:

20 oz Bottle
Cutting Tool
Pipe
Baloon
Straw/Tube/Hose
Duct/Electrical Tape
Lighter
Herb

1. Cut the bottom of the bottle off. You usually want to cut
about 2 inches high, but do what feels/looks best.

2. Poke a small hole about 2-3 inches up from the new
bottom of the bottle. Make it only big enough to fit your straw
or hose through, there is little room for error here, so be
careful.

3. Attach the baloon to the bottom of the bottle. You may
want to put some duct tape around the top of the baloon so
that it doesn't fall off. You'll probably have to cut the "neck"
of the baloon off to make it fit. Be sure to stretch it out too.
Then use duct tape or electrical tape to make sure it stays on
there nice and tight. You can never have too much tape, and
you definitely don't want bong water spilling all over (Minnie
Mouse also adds a nice effect

).

4. Put your straw in the hole and determine the length you
want to use, then cut it and attach the mouthpiece of your
pipe to your straw/hose (duct tape works fine). Now insert into
hole.

5. Fill the bottle with water. This is the part where you have to
be sure that your baloon is attached nicely. Get enough water
in it so that the tip of the straw/hose is completely
submerged.

Now you have an Apollo, but the trickiest part is actually
smoking it

6. Now light your pipe and inhale. Don't inhale too much, but
inhale as if you were about to blow up a baloon--not enough
to make you cough.

7. When you finish inhaling, quickly remove your pipe and
cover the hole with your thumb. Make sure your baloon is still
on tight and exhale/blow into the bottle. The baloon will
expand.

8. When you're out of breath (or the baloon is getting
dangerously close to popping), let the air flow back into your
lungs (you barely have to inhale). Be very careful here, the
hits are insane, so be ready to pull your thumb off the hole
and your mouth off the tip of the bottle.

9. Take your thumb of the hole, inhale to completely clear
the bottle, insert pipe and repeat.

10. Scream "Holy shit!", sit back, and just chill.

I think i'll try that one. BTW, whenever you make a bong where a tube/pipe comes in from the side and you want to be able to quickly insert it and remove it but you want a really good seal you can go to the hardware store and buy a rubber grommet. Basically it's just a rubber ring with a deep groove in the middle...the groove fits the hole in the bottle and the tube/pipe can be inserted though the ring. Its the perfect way to make your favorite home made device even better.
