Question about my home made vapo...And a product question

So i made a vapo, similar to the light bulb except i used a small glass jar.

The "straw" is a pen tube. Heres the question... am i supposed to seal off the "straw" opening and the air inlet hole when "vaporizing" the bud?

I tried with a heat gun...it wasn't a variable temp. gun i think it gets up to 650ºF but yeah, i heated up the glass for a good 30 seconds or so (which is too long already) but I never saw any vapor...

I grabbed the jar and took a big hit....and there was something...i blew it out...then set the jar down and it broke...lol

But yeah, got another jar (same type of jar so the lid and straw still fit) and heated the glass up again. Once again, no vapor, took a few more hits.

Regardless, I got high as hell...way higher than smoking out of my bowl (and less pot too)

Back to the main question...why did I see no vapor? I figured that the vapor was just going out of the jar...

Btw, does anyone have any experience with this?

Hmm. I'd recommend a 100 watt lightbulb. Because I think the problem might be that the glass that the jar is made of is too thick for it to heat as well.

Also try something different to heat it with that could also be the problem.

Are you seeing some vapor or absolutely none?

Well i tried holding a lighter near it as well, held for a min or so and still nothing (visible atleast) but thats how i took my last 2 hits.

What the fuck are you talking about? Do you know what vapor is? When you use a vape, you should see vapor (looks just like steam/water vapor) swirling around inside it.

Try a lightbulb, I know they work great. Also, deffinitly cover any openings that would allow the vapor to escape.

how long should it usually take to start seeing vapor with a lighter?

Edit: well i went to go try it out again, and instead of starting off with the heat gun i just went for the lighter way...and uhh IT STARTED WORKING! by that i mean i was able to see some vapor swirling around. I wanted to wait for it to fill up completely but the lighter was getting very hot. So i went to go take a hit and as soon as i put the piece in my mouth the glass jar got a huge crack in it...but it worked and i am currently at a nice buzz.

So i now have broken 2 jars...im guessing they werent made for vaporizing...does anyone know of any glass objects that i could use?

definately a light bulb. I personally have made several, they dont crack from heat except with severe temperature shifts. The glass is designed to withstand heat as lightbulbs heat up alot. use a lighter to heat it. one thing thats great is that the top of a water bottle fits perfectly onto the top of the bulb. best of luck to you

Just so you all know, that little buzz turned into a "man im pretty damn high right now."

I think i may just buy a vaporgenie. I was originally going to get the vapir oxygen mini but now i figure its whatever

so i made one out of the lightbulb and i am able to see the vapor pretty dam quickly...too bad the bulb was wet cuz i washed out the insides and waht not....so i think i smoked mostly steam but i am still a little high...

yeah i just made one for myself out of a lightbulb and the top of a water bottle yesterday. hits like a champ.
