Hydroponically Grown Vs. Soil Grown

As a smoker, which do you prefer? Do you agree with what Jason King says in the first Cannabible about soil grown being a lot better then hydroponically grown?

It does effect the taste. Most of what I've smoked is soil grown organic, and I enjoy the flavor more.

Hydroponically grown (though a more complex setup, of course) grass can result in higher THC content. But not always.

it depends, if its hydro or soil chemically, it doesent matter. if its organic, i'd rather go with soil. i dont know why, the taste seems more pungent.

It is more or less the knowledge of the Grower and the form of Nutrients used.

Most Commercial growers are growing strictly for profit and grow Hydro to save a little time and also money. Chemical nutrients are very cheap in large batches, quick and easy to use with no odors or messes. But even with proper flushing, a seasoned smoker can tell if it is Chem-Hydro as I call it.

On the other hand If a Hydro Grower is very experienced and uses Organic Nutrients the outcome is amazing, Clean smooth taste and clear high, with the benefits of a slightly shorter finish time, But this grower must be very skilled to imitate the robust flavor and aroma produced by plants properly grown in soil. However most Hydro growers do not have a knowledge of Organics or just choose not to use them because learning a new way is a waste of time and money.

I myself have grown in Hydro and Soil, And have smoked large amounts of both Organic and Chem and can tell the difference very well, When I was younger I did not care weed was weed but now as I am older and care more about what I put in my body I have a new found respect and love for Organics and Tradition. So I only grow Organically with traditional soil and Organic Nutrients.

I enjoy a smooth flavorful cannabis with a dense aroma, With a relaxing body high and sometimes intense Cerebral high, but yet very light smoke and easy on the lungs and I have found this to be best achieved by soil grown Organic Cannabis.

Along with needing an experienced grower, it is also strain dependent.

The stuff I am smoking now is hydro, awesome smell, flavor, and burn.

The soil grown, had an earthier taste which made it not as enjoyable to me for this strain.

I have had strains that were completely opposite.

I just believe in keepin it natural for most things. I definitly can taste chemmy hydro, and that doesnt taste the best. I hate when my bowl turns into black crud, and not into clean white ash. Anyways thats just my 2 cents on things.

I agree, but that can also be with soil as well. If your buying commercial hydro, chances are your not getting organics. Which is what I prefer soil or hydro.
