As i read it, there is no law agaist weed in ontario, this means you can theoretically posess 700 tons of bud if you want. Everybody in Ontario should plant their seeds TODAY!

Maaan, if enough ontario tokers got together and showed initiative in creating a means of applying sales tax to commercial/medicinal bud, and the ontario gov't accepted such, and started taxing weed sold for profit, the ontario gov't would have a good reason to keep weed legal, as would the rest of canada if such a plan is ever effected. The gov't would see an influx of "new" money, as well as a decrease in budget requirements for policing/prosecution/legal fees and would provide a helluva "role model" for legalization elsewhere. You would still be able to grow for free, minus cost of your supplies, but would have the opportunity to go to a "coffeeshop" and buy, at the same time supporting continued legalization. Weed would end up cheaper than it is now even with tax applied. Damn that would be tight!

Peace

If i was an ontarian i'd be writing letters to my gov't peeps right now suggesting such a thing while there is a window of opportunity.

30 grams is the max I believe. This article is also slightly wrong, it's not legal in the sense you can walk down the street smoking it.

The law here in Ontario, I live in Toronto, is that you only get a ticket for having less than 30 grams. It's been decriminalized, so you won't go to jail or have it go on your record, but you still get a 100.00 fine for possesing or smoking marijuana.

It was a big deal here in the city, there was a parade and everything, a small parade full of pot heads but the numbers were in the thousands I believe.

Next step: legalization for non-medical use.

perhaps there should be some law that encourages revenues from cannabis production and sale (whether industrial or recreational) to go towards medicinal users free supply.

I can't wait! My hometown BC is getting the same laws on the 30th

They were supposed to come with ontarios, but some complaints postponed it, but its still on!

I want to roll a huge blunt, and then with 100$ in my pocket, light it up right outside the municipal hall. when I get my ticket ill pay for it on the spot, and just keep tokin :P hahahah thatd be great, but would probably just cause more trouble than anything.
