To buy glass at local headshop or San Francisco headshop?

Hey guys I'm looking to get either a new color changing bubbler or steamroller. There's the local headshop like 10 mins away from my house and it has a good selection of pieces and pretty fair prices. I was thinking about getting my piece there but then there's a lot more selection of glassware in SF (from what I remember). Should I make the 1 hour+ trip to San Francisco Haight/Ashbury (probably going to check out Pipe Dreams and Sunshine Coast) or should I just support my local headshop? I haven't been to a SF headshop in a long time and I'm wondering if the larger selection of tight glassware warrants the hour-long trip to the city. Thanks

Always support local buisness. It helps your community more than you think. I try to buy what I can in town no matter what it is, if I cant then I will drive to PHX to find it. You could always ask the shop who the local blower is and see if you can contact him to blow you a custom piece and work out a price for it.

I would save the road trip for when you and a couple other friends want to get pieces. Then you could sorta make a day trip out of it. Like go get pieces, smoke in SF, go grab some lunch and chill. This way you can split up things, like all throw down for a sweet piece and what not.

I believe in supporting the locals but sometimes you have to make that extra trip out of town to get something really special. You can't really go wrong with taking a trip to SF man even if you don't buy some glass there.

and if you are heading out anyways. you should go to berkeley instead. haha. Iunno. I just like berkeley better than SF. there are plenty of smoke shops in berkeley, and nice people, and good food, and some cool spots if you look hard enough, and some awesome spots that you don't have to look hard for. hmm

I'm in SF, and the glass selection on Haight/Ashbury is hardly superior to a local joint. That's where tourists go, usually tourists without head shops in their hometown. Therefore they're just happy to see anything. Berkeley actually has a damn good selection, but unless you have something specific in mind, stay at home. If you need a PhX or Baker or other name brand glassware, then you may have to come to the City to get it...

Depends on the selection each place has.

If your local shop has some heady shit, I'd buy from them...if not make the trip to SanFran.
