Amsterdam visit: full strain reports + macro pics

So i went to Amsterdam yesterday, i probably mentioned here and there that i was gonna go back around Christmas and so i did So this time we went by car, wich is considerably faster, it took us three hours by train last time, that is Gent - Amsterdam, by car Gent Amsterdam - took us just over 2 hours. It's obviously alot more comfertable + u can toke up in u'r car




So the first shop we went was the Greenhouse at Waterlooplein. Nice little shop i love it and obviously the herbs are dank ass hell, bought some kick ass Super silver Haze and some King Hassan extreme wich was nice hash.

The next shop we visited was The Grey area wich is a very small shop, i liked it, it had a very cool atmosphere. There were stickers evrywhere and they had very nice glass wich u were free to use. Unfortunatly i didn't cause it was very crowded in there and the few seats that they had were all full off people. A pity otherwise we would have cerntainly hanged there for a few hours. A friend bought some very dank herbs there, the stuff was called something like bubblesilverhaze, not quite sure about the name but i won't be off by too much. I bought some Grey cristals there wich was 3rd at 2007 htcc in category Nederhash but more about in the bud report.

The next shop on the list is Kadzinsky wich is a small shop located in a small alley, not much sitting room but theyr café is about 10 meters down the alley and is my favorite café in Amsterdam. I din't buy bud in the shop as my funds were running shorter but a friend got some dank ass Jack Herrerr and one off the girls that were also one the trip bought some cristal and Orange bud wich were both pretty nice.

Next up was Barbeys lounge, quite nice place and very good weed. These guys took first prize indica with Crimea bleu and best weed first prize with theyr G-13. Obviously i bought a gram off both Pretty expensive though but the Crimea stuff was the bomb, haven't tried the G-13 yet, can't wait. We wen't too the Goa coffeeshop then were only 1 friend bought some hash, but we needed to sit down for a bit and smoke one.

The last shop we visited was the Greenhouse in the centre, it was my first visit here and i was quite impressed. It's alot bigger than the other Greenhouse but less cosier too. It's very nicely decorated though and they had a wall off fame in the back with some celeberties like Eminem, Quentin Tarantino and many others. When i was ordering the guy behind the booth had to anwser a phone call. I had to wait a bit and then this other guy came and i ordered some cheese and 1 gram off iceolator wich looked oily as hell. I was just walking away when the other guy had finished calling and he called me back. They guy said he was sorry for the phone call and gave me a free grinder, i was like thanks dude and happely accepted.

We then wen't on to spend the remainder off our time drinking in the Kadzinsky and one off the girls spend her last money on some bud at a shop we passed when going to the car. It looked ok but nothing special.

Well i'm sorry but i have run out off time but no worries the full bud report and some nice macro pics will follow tomorrow or possibly later this evening if i have some time on my hands. Stay tuned !

Ice-o-lator:

So i bought this hash at the greenhouse, this is the one located in the center on the Ouderzijdse Voorbrugwal, this hash was not in stock in the Greenhouse on the Waterloo square. It was quite pricy indeed at a steep 18 €/gr, but from the moment the guy pulled out the slab off dark oily hash i knew that it was all good. I was obviously anxious to try but i managed to wait until just about an hour and a half ago

First impressions:
It was indeed very good. When i took the little slab off hash out off the baggy it looked sooo tasty. This stuff was dripping with oil had a nice scent and was very soft u could easely roll it into a little bal or spaghetti. A gram off this stuff can give u 3 good joints i was quite amzed how much 0.3 gr looked like when spread on my joint waiting to be rolled.

The smoking experience:
It gave a nice flavoured smooth smoke wich left a very pleasing aftertaste in the mounth, very nice smoke indeed. The high came fast and hard but not hard like hammered hard rather high with a very good buzz in the head. My vision also became noticably blurry. The high lasted quite a long time and after an hour or so it changed into a nice mellow relaxed feeling.

All in all very good nederhash even worth the high price i would say a real number one.

Crimea Bleu:

So next up is the award winning Crimea Bleu. This stuff won this years best indica cup at the htcc. Obviously i had to see what all the fuss was about so i bought a gram off this rather steeple priced stuff. I got it at Barneys lounge one off the Barneys coffeeshops. It was a quite nice shop but nothing special. The herb however, damn it looked dank ass hell a nice solid nugg glittering with cristals, manicured to perfection there was no sign of leaves whatsoever. The price was around 13 €/gr don't know the exact amount anymore.

First impressoins

I opened the baggy and whoow an extremely pungent earth like smell shot in my nostrills. I immediatly knew that this stuff was gonna taste and smell like hell when i lit my joint up. No stealth smoking with this stuff, seriously don't light this up in public places peaple will smell from miles away that u are smoking some extremely potent gear. The nugget looked absolutly gorgeous i was a bit reluctant to break it up but then again i was quite anxious to smoke it.

The smoking experience

Damn that stuff tastes good, from the first toke i immediatly tasted the earth like taste. Evryone at my table immediatly noticed the pungent earthy smell and it was so strong u couldn't even smell the other joints that were going around, and this was after one toke. I can definatly understand why they gave this herb a first prize it has a very unique and extremly strong flavour and ow yeah did i mention that it f*cks u up

Cheese

So as promised i wil discuss the Cheese i bought at the Greenhouse in the centre.I only bought a gram off this stuff cause i was almost out off money. I'm sorry but i don't remember the exact price it was not that expensive though, i think it was around 9 €/gr.

First impressions

My first impression wasn't a good one. I looked in the baggy and, well there just wasn't much weed in there. The buds looked quite compact though but they didn't look so nice. Don't get me wrong here it didn't look bad but keep in mind that i just got some ultra dank looking buds ar Barneys an hour orso ago so,my standards were pretty high at the moment. The buds were small but very dense and had a bit off leafage wich i was going to have to remove myself. So i opened the baggy, whow. Hhmm what is this a very strong pungent smell that immediatly gave me a flashback to my beginning days as a smoker, over 5 years ago. We used to get this skunk from a friend that stinked very much and this stuffs smell was quite similar. I couldn't wait to roll one up.

The smoking expirience

I crushed my buds in my grinder and when i dumped them in my joint i immediatly noticed that these little buds i threw in produced an insane amount off crushed weed and the smell was extremely strong, again reminding me off the old days. I toked up, damnn the taste was spot on, very skunky very strong intense flavour. I loved itn i really did and to think that my first impression was, hmm that doesn't look to good. When i got back from Amsterdam that evening i immediatly went to the friend who used to deal his place. We smoked the remaining joint and he also immediatly said that this stuff definatly reminded him off the old school skunk. This stuff got me quite hammered too.

Unfortunatly because every bit off Cheese was smoke that day so i didn't get a chance to take a picture off this stuff.

Grey Crystals

So this stuff was bought at the Grey area. A cozy little shop not far from the Dam square. I like the shop itself very much because it looked very cozy, there were stickers all over the place and they had some very nice bongs for the customers to use. Everybody was shatting and talking about weed, unfortunatly all the space in the small shop was crowded so we immediatly left after buying our herbs. The next time i'm in Amsterdam i will definatly come back and hang around in the Grey area maybe even use one off theyr bongs. I wanted to try the Chocolope but unfortunatly it was out off stock at the moment. So i bought the Grey mist crystals, the price was very steep at 12.5 €/0.5gr it was about 22 for a whole gram but i only bought a half.

First impressions

First impressions weren't good it didn't look tasty at all and didn't quite smell and i was beginning to regret i payed 12.5 euros for this stuff and i was wandering why this had won 3rd price in the Nederhash category. It did look like alot for half a gram and i was confident that i was going to be able to roll 2 joints off it. So i rolled one up curious about what this stuff would give and wheter or not it was worth the high price i payed for it, cause it kinda looked like dirt to me.

The smoking experience

So i rolled this stuff and started smoking, the taste wasn't really good not a strong taste. I wouldn't go as far as claiming that it nearly didn't taste at all but the taste was nothing special really, certainly not keeping the price off this stuff in mind. After the 3rd hit orso i started feeling quite light headed and a few tokes later i was really reaaaaly light headed. This stuff began to hit and from the looks of it it was going to hit hard. A few minutes later and i was high as hell, yes high nothing stoney about this stuff at all a nice clear buzz in the head very nice. I was beginning to understand how this stuf managed to win 3rd place and why it was so expensive. The high was really clear and i had this grin on my face wich i just couldn't stopped. I probably sat there a half our orso just stupidly grinning, this stuff was strong. All in all i wouldn't say it's worth the high price, the high was very good strong and clear but i missed a good taste, i have to say i liked the ice-o-lator from Greenhouse better because off the taste and the also fabulous high but this stuff was definatly stronger.

This is how the stuff looks, i didn't expect it to look like this i thought it was gonna look more skuff like but hey the stuff got me ripped.
