homemade glass bong question

hey all, i'm new to this forum. quick question on making a homemade glass bong.

i have already used sandpaper on the spot i want to drill. but for drilling a hole in the glass, is it ok if i use a glass drill bit and put the glass under water while i am drilling? if this works, how long will it take to do?

the bowl is a horn mouthpiece but i dont know what to use for the downstem. any ideas?
