there is this thing i want to make into a bong, but it is maade of glass, and i have no glass drillbits, is there any other way to make a hole in glass?

Glass drill bits are the best way. The other easiest way is to not drill glass. Run the downpipe from the opening in the top. You will need to also run a straw or tube or something to suck on from the top.

Cork the top, get a good sized nail and pound it in, take it out and fit the stem through the hole to the water put the bowl on top and make another hole and fix a straw. Light and take a rip

you can do it with science stuff or you can pick up everyhting you need at a winemaking store. You can find bottles in any size and then get stoppers to fit them. The stoppers come with one or more holes. Get one with two holes. One hole ill be for the downpipe, which is also available at a wine making store (it will be something that's supposed to be used for draining the bottle) and the other hole is where you toke from. Put a hose or something in there. You can get some big ass bottles to do it with. My dad makes wine occasionally and if I thought I could get away with using his stuff I'd make a bong out of it. I've dreamt about it so many times.

the stoppers work good, but a glass drill bit works shitloads better. go to the hardware store and buy one. there only like 3 bucks. if you cant afford it, "borrow" it. i do it all the time and the next time i go into the store i tell them to keep the change. they think i'm being nice, but i'm really paying for something i "bought in advance" a week before.

I like to fool around in my garage, and make stuff. and one day I got the same idea you had. Glass is a very hard material to work with and I broke 2 bottles before I got one to work.

First thing is, sorry, but you're gonna have to pay up for a set of glass drill bits. They're not that expensive though. Make sure you get glass drill bits, not masonry ones.

When you drill glass, it REALLY helps to have a drill press. Getting the bit started in a hand drill is almost impossible. It can be done, but you have to be patient. When you drill glass, the workpiece MUST NOT be allowed to move, or it will break Hold it firmly somehow. When you are drilling, go very slowly, especially towards the end. If you press hard, the glass will crack. Let the drill do the work. If somehow your drilled hole is not big enough, you can enlarge it. To do this you should have a dremel tool with a CARBIDE grinding bit. Same rule as with the drill-let the tool do the work for you, and don't press hard.

There's a good chance you'll crack or break the glass. If you do, don't worry too much. If you only have one shard that cracked off while you were drilling, you can use model cement or superglue and glue it back. Be liberal with the glue, and don't touch the bottle until it's cured.

The last thing is that you have to wear safety goggles and a dust mask. You'll be amazed at the amount of dust one damn hole can make. I was stupid enough to not wear the mask the first time I tried this, and the dust got in my lungs. By the time I went to bed that night, I was coughing blood.

I made a hooka out of a sobe bottle that looks just like that. I used a radio antenna for the stem.

You can get tubing from any store. Gardening sections, fish tank stuff, etc. Be creative. Also you can join straws together. That's a cheap college kid solution for you. Just push one end into the other. One end will fold a little and if you push it right you can get it to seal fairly well instead of continuing to fold and go inside the other straw.

I'm 18, not "18" and I've had tools for a while. I have tools in my dorm room. I bought tools when I bought my car. Tools are cheap. Go to wal-mart. They won't be "high" quality, but they'll build bongs and help you work on your car.

If you only want a 1 night wonder, you can make a bong out of most anything. But if you want a glass bong, you must have at least a drill and preferably a dremel tool. You have to be creative. If you decide that you don't have to have a glass bong, then you could try going to the local Home Depot and checking out the plumbing section. Just play around with all the fittings and pipes until you think of something that could work. They will probably have the tubing you want, too If the tubing doesn't have to be flexible, you could go to your local auto parts shop and ask for some stainless steel brake line. That type of tubing isn't very bendable though; if it has to be bent, look for aluminum tube. As to the bowl, I think an upside down copper pipe end cap would work well, but I can't help you that much because I never had to think about it that hard. I got my dad to machine mine on a lathe at work. Just remember that you can't make any parts that will be hot out of anything that is galvanized or cad-plated, as they will release deadly zinc and cadmium fumes.
