I had a great friend. Somehow he got some hash oil and a glass pipe. We went across the street (this was long ago in high school). And we started to smoke this stuff, and then we sat on the swing set and twirled around. To be honest, I believe I have never laughed so hard in my life, and I was about 18, so you know they heard us for miles around....
So he said, "Why don't you come to Scottsdale for Christmas and New Year's ??" (Arizona)
So I flew out there.
Man, that was good. His sister's boyfriend loaned us his Mustang 7.0 V8, and I remember us doing donuts in a 7-11 parking lot while he was trying to pour us another couple of Martinis.....glasses and bottles flying around and around in circles !!!
He said, "I have to go to work, but just hang out at Mom's house and I'll be back later."
I waited for 3 days. I flew back to California. His Mom called and asked, "Did Lloyd fly back with John ?" The answer was in the negative. 5 days later they found his body. He had gotten drunk at work, and on the walk home he stumbled and fell into a cement half-pipe culvert with about a half-inch of water in the bottom. He landed, knocked unconscious, in the exact center of the trickle of water... and drowned.
Alcohol's price is about 75% government tax. So this is what I get ? My only, my best friend dead ?? You think about that, I'm too upset right now. I'll never have another friend like him....

I'm really sorry to hear that. One of my close friends just drowned a few months ago. I am not sure what to tell you, I have been thinking that my friend is definitely in heaven, whether or not I believe in it, I know he's there. Because when I talk to him, even though he's gone, I get these really, really strong feelings that I know are him answering me. and he never leads me astray. Please, my condolences for your loss.

Yeah I am sorry to hear that as well. I have had several close friends die since I was in high school, so I understand your pain.

I lost my best friend as well a few years ago, my father. My thoughts are with ya man and just know that they're still with you, in your mind, the sun, the wind and in your laughter. peace.
