hey ya'll.


past 5-6 years ive been smoking pot almost every day. and you know what i just realized?

i never smoked acrylic. ever.

i figured it out when i was watching entourage and turtle and drama always smoke out of a little acrylic bong. so i asked my friends why do tv shows use acrylic? (weeds uses it too) and my friend responded "because its cheaper. duh"

and it got me thinking. i smoke glass papers and blunts.


so i sold my glass bong for 100 bucks. (thread title) and i wanna go acrylic haha.


so am i crazy? is acrylic really any good?

I never used acrylic either, but I'm sure it's not going to hit as nice as glass. I think your probably crazy, especially because you can buy acrylics cheap.

acrylics are nice because they're durable and all, but imo glass tops it.

but ive had this bong since i had my drivers permit. seriously. i celebrated getting my drivers permit when i was 16 by buying that bong


not to mention im a broke ass college kid about to head to med school. no need for all the glass.


oh and if i do get my medical degree-mj cards for everyone!

i've herd that acrylics get really dirty and they're hard to ever get them completely clean again. is this true?

i just looked a few on grasscity. they look kinda cool.


well lord knows glass gets dirty as shit. i bling my bong about once every 9-10 days.

Yes because unlike glass, plastic absorbs material much, much easier.

I have a acrylic bong i copped for $15, I rarley use it but it does its job. 13 inches tall. Pull out stem.

But glass is MUCH better.

And yes they get dirty but ive used paper towel/q-tips alot with hot water and it cleans it.

my friends that i smoke with have one at their place and compared to glass it sucks a dick. They are cheap and the one they have is permanently stained from all the resin. i would try to get your glass back.

I had one of the cheap plastic bongs before, and it actually worked pretty damn good. I would say that it works just as well as a glass bong. Plus it's cheaper and a little bit more durable.

I would blend up some ice, with some water, to make it into a slushy mix. Then I would pour this into the bong, and then fill it all the way up with ice to the top. Take a massive hit and it goes down nice and cold, FTMFW!!!

I have a 6" acrylic bong with a ice twist. It hits great, though I have never smoked outta glass. Most of my friends use pipes, papers, or blunt wraps.

if you are any skilled with your hands
try making a bong. i did this once with a
piece of bamboo, it was one of the greatest
bongs i have ever smoked. the only problem was
i didnt dry the bamboo and seal it properly
and it ended up rotting... any way just try making
something sometime its even more rewarding knowing
that you made it with your own hands.

My first bong was a big ass acrylic. I liked it when I bought it, but I had never gotten the chance to experience some nice glass. I've still got the thing, but it has a carb and its dirty and I'll never smoke it again.
