Pinbacks music is like a mixture of genres that really mellow your mood..... I think thats the reason why its so easy to listen to them stoned.

Stranglers - Golden Brown
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
Incubus - Magic Medicine

Something along the lines of these? I know its a tall order guys, but all the help will be appreciated!!!

thanks in advance

check out-

Issac Hayes-specifically the song "walk on by" epic, but really anything he touched
Barry White-anything, "the look of love" is my favorite, but "playin your game, baby" is also my favorite.
Albert King-I'll play the blues for you album
kool and the gang-live at the sex machine album, anything before 1976.
curtis mayfield-superfly, roots, curtis, sweet exorcist, come ON! genius

many more, but that should get you started down a good path. enjoy

If you want something really out there check out Karlheinz Stockhausen or George Crumb. Of particular note would be Crumb's Ancient Voices of Children. Neither of these composers are very approachable, but are worth a listen if you are into music concrete or aleatoric music. A little less out there would be the minimalist composers (Steve Reich, John Adams, Terry Riley and Philip Glass).

However, if you want to listen to a good drug addled piece of music, listen to Symphony Fantastique by Berlioz. It is all about an opium trip. There are many, many other classical pieces that fit the bill, if you want to know just ask.
