hydroponics does not equal good weed

i'm serious. hydroponics is a method used to grow marijuana. it gives you more yield and is faster. it does not make your weed better in the context of thc content. i wish folks would stop going around saying they have "dro", because that's meaningless.

I love dro. I think it is a characteristically different high (very heady, more paranoia, but still a good mental trip.) I think hydroponically grown weed is very good if thats what your in the mood for.

Yeah, it can increase THC content. The way you grow your plants affects how much THC it will have.

i dont really care too much about knowing what strain i'm smoking. i really don't care if someone tells me they have dro if it's not dro. here in chicago, when people say they have dro, it basically means they have some good beasts or dank. i dont care if the bud i'm smoking was grown hydroponically. i like getting high and that's that

whenever my connect gets new buds he calls me up and says "yo i got dro man its some heat!"

people expect dro to be good because most people wouldn't go to the trouble of growing a shitty strain in a hydro setup

Well, kind of misleading, imho.

Growing hydroponically (if done right) will show faster growth, but the THC content is going to be hardwired into the strain. You can't really "increase" it more than the amount of CBG available to convert to THC.

So, if you do everything right, you will get XX THC content. No way to improve upon that.

However, growing (and drying and curing) it poorly will definitely adversely affect the THC content. Basically, you will not be maximizing the plant's potential.

But I agree with the threadstarter about folks talking like "dro" is a strain...

well actually it can increase THC in a hydroponic system Vs. soil growing. Because the plant gets more nutrients in a hydroponic system. But that is not the main reason why people use hydroponic systems.

Nutrients don't affect THC (well, unless you over nute and kill them. That would affect it). Nutrients help the plant grow.

Soil or Hydro...The THC content is not affected. Just how good of a grower you are.

Fine but when people say their weed is "dro", it's just slang for dank. Don't take it literally. And most if not all hydroponic weed is dank. Sure, technically it isn't necessarily good, but when you go to all the touble to build a complicated and expensive hydroponics system, you're going to remove the males. That alone pushes your weed into the "dank" range of things.

That may be true for many, many plants and vegetables, but marijuana is very easily grown to its maximum potential in soil. A good sealed off room will prevent any sort of infestation in the soil. Proper feeding/draining will give the plants more than enough nutrients - you flush just as you would in hydro. Use the same lighting as the hydro setups, but with some nice 5 gallon pots, and as remo says, you can pull off 2 pounds per light of some supreme medical herb.

Nope. How do you think the plant makes thc? Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (plus those micro-nutrients).

That dro, literally grown with ebb&flow

It just sounds cooler to say dro man... It's just a saying.

I can get some "dro" that is about the same as some good mids. When they say dro they mean potent.
