| Packing a Quality Bowl
So I've smoked many a time in my life, but there's something I've always noticed when I watch someone else pack a bowl - they're so meticulous about it! They'll pull off each and every seed, place it slowly back in the bag and then go back to work. They'll then make sure there are no stems at all and thoroughly go through the contents of the bowl again to check for seeds. Now this might sound like a "Well your one friend is weird like that" but no, it's not just one friend. Four or five different people I know pack a bowl like this. At this point you might be thinking "...so?" but here's where I'm almost 100% different - I just pack a bowl! I take a bud out of the bag, look at it, pick off any seeds I can see without having to examine it under a magnifying glass and then press it into the bowl. I always make sure there is a good flow throughout it, but so what if you get a stem, or a seed for that matter? Most of my bowl have a stem or two, hell even three if I'm in a hurry, and it still smokes fine! I guess what I'm asking is: Why? Why take that much time to pick out the seeds, de-stem every bud and check it over to make sure it's perfect when it's all going to the same place, your bloodstream. Are there chemicals on seeds and stems that detract from the high? I know that might sound like a stupid question, but why else would someone do it? I pick out a few good sized buds, strip them of stems & seeds and then sort of mash them into the bowl. Like I said, it's all going to the same place with or without the seeds & stems, so why be some careful? |

Seeds can cause headaches for me and stems aren't anywhere near as thc rich as the actual buds so I save those for iso hash. Also, breaking your bud up (or in my case grinding) makes it burn better and you consume all of it.

Theres little to none THC in the stems, so I take out all the big ones..i'm not gonna spend more than 20 secs packing a bowl though. I also never really notice the seeds and have never had a problem with em and i hardly take em out.

The more finely ground weed that has been completely de-stemed and de-seeded will burn better and more evenly than with stems and seeds in it. And some people just like to pack quality bowls amd put some effort into it.

if Im buying something with seeds and stems its low quality so ill spend the time to deseed and destem and grind up a good amount, then store that so its always ready to go with whatever i want to do....take some to load a bowl (just scoop it with a spoon pipe ) or its ready for a joint. With dro/dank I break it up as small as humanly possible to expose all the crystals. Plus, lets face it bud is expensive, I like to see/enjoy my weed by touching and smelling it in addiction to the smoke.
