My Bong Dilemma, Did I make a bad decision?

Dude, sounds like u got a sick binger. As long as you keep it clean and get high, i doubt you will care if its a RooR or not.

Just because a bong cost $600 doesnt mean its great. I know you have probably seen a heady pipe and thought... "WTF! i would never pay $800 for that!" ... same goes for bongs.

for comparison, percs on the east coast are listed as high as ~800$ (not that you cant talk a headshop down, and it helps scare away the newbs).

right away, i notice the zob doesnt have a splash guard. thats shitty. the perc tree really throws water around, so ud be smart to keep the water in that low. if you didnt pay too much, dont expect to get too much.

heady pipes are artistic, they arent bought strictly to smoke out of. I know some people who collect glass pipes from artists still and they dont even smoke anymore, strictly for the love of glass.

tube seems nice, the splashgaurd is a big issue for me personally, for tubes under 24" atleast.

Crystal fog never does splash gaurds, and although i can get a double perc for under $150, i decided not to cause i know the tree perc doesnt perform the same as the roor and bong water from the perc chamber will touch your lips on clearing (ive tried a buddies 24" beaker)


Your tube looks like it wil perform nicely, i dont think you should trip too much in hindsight. If you really want to know for future reference, ROOR makes better joints, cleaner percs, the best splash gaurds, thick glass and the diffuser u get with it is much better than anything else out there id say at the moment.

lol yea i saw that, seemed like a gimmick though. my stoner friends make fun of it, but honestly i dunno anything about it could be a really cool device, but l really like to "smoke", the whole gas mask thing turns me off, personally

Oh thats not an exaxt picture of my tube. My tube does have a splash guard. Its basically a copy of a real nice Roor. Im kind feel pissed at myself for buying a copy and not the real thing. Maybe Im thinking about this wayyyy tooo much. I should just go get high and then see if i like the bong or not. Ill try to get pic up when I get my cam back

If it bothers you a lot, im sure itd be easy to sell. Sounds like you want a RooR, id get one but thats just me lol.

Im sure it will be fine, but why not get what you really want is all. I wouldnt take a big loss or any loss, id try and sell it for what i paid and then get what i wanted assuming i could afford it.

Does it have a HUGE ZOB label on it? take some pics

as MattMunchies has indicated, I'd also like to point out that its all about what you want. If you are at the "I want a RooR but don't want to spend that much" dilemma, I think you have already found the middle ground.

You're preaching to the chior if you're trying to get me to recognize higher quality... but what I'm essentially getting at is that 99% of any situations that could break a bong apply to any brand. I'd be willing to bet that the circumstances in which a bistable joint could save your bong are MUCH more plausible than those that the precision tree allignment can help with.

Actually i've been told that RooR's are not made of pyrex, but are made of a heavier, more expensive, and more durable glass (i forget the name *hits head for being high*) from the guy down at La La Land in Venice, CA (a Very reputable RooR dealer)

anyways i personally own a zob tube, 16" straightshot feels thicker then 5mm but i can't tell. Well i was in the same boat as to this tube was replacing my broken RooR lil sista, but ive been broke and love to smoke so i needed a bong. I found my ZoB cheap, $100 got me bong, bag, 6-slit diffusor (eeew) and i had my old headie lazyneck RooR bowl that fit. I love the way it hits, the label is definatly shittier then RooR's but it does the job not quite a roor but its hard to tell the real difference in small straightshots.

And also, the guy down at La La Land also told me that RooR's, AMG's, ZOB's, PURE's, and a few others like his label (Gtp 3.0 or something like that) are all made of the same glass, use the same labels, and are all in all about the same. Why would a business man be telling me the tube i got now is basically the same as a RooR in the same size? When they are both priced about the same... beats me. but my zob's sick i love my friends 18" rasta straightshot RooR but i can't diss zobs i get BAKED!
