Dry weed?

Does it loose any potency when its dry? Why is dry weed considered "not fresh"? Whats the disadvantages of having dry weed, if there are any?

Im sure it burns quicker when its dry but thats the only thing i can think of.

it burns quicker, is usually harsher on your throat, and will usually have lost weight if you picked up fresher bud and it dried.

but if you just picked it up dry then it burns fast and is harsh on the throad.

you could maybe try some of the techs on here for remoistening bud, never tried them though.

i bought it moist, but i picked up more weight than usual so its kinda sitting there so it dried up, but ya i guess ill try remoistening it.

yeah you could cure them and itd be fine im sure, still no one answered thee question tho.. cuz im curious too.. are there any other disadvantages then it just being harsh/burning quick etc. any potency loss issues?

theyll be less water weight, so youll have more thc for the weight. there are ways to put a little more moisture in them, but you might run a risk of mold. i personally like dry bud

to the OP, you won't lose any potency unless the buds are poorly handled, because the trichs on dry buds are more brittle and fall off easier.

ye in most cases properly dry bud is better than soggy bud, especially if you are buying weighed out bags, if you really do want to moisten em use the orange peel curing technique, or a lil sqaure of wetpaper towel, but im talkin LITTLE, not a whole fuckin piece or nothing

Get a glass jar, thoroughly dry. Place bud in the glass jar with a section of orange peel.
Remove the lid for 30 minutes each day.
Smoke when it's to your satisfaction.

yeah haha..i dont mean bud thats gonna be crumbling all over the place when you pick it up..but id rather have drier bud than some really wet buds that take forever to burn...and its not a good sort of forever..

when buds too fresh to put through the grinder i find letting it sit out for 4 or 5 hours max does the trick. if you let it get bone dry by leaving it out for a day it loses alot of potency, smell and taste. and it will be crumbly and harsh.

i alway snotice teh trichs more on dry buds, if im at a house chillen for awhile before smoking we usually sit out some buds before we do anythign with them, they get real crystally
