Cannabis Defense Mechanism?

I was breaking up my new purchase and I was already high with my mind thinking about random shit, when I realized something really interesting. Unfortunately I was picking out a seed when I started thinking about the casing around the seed, and how it is basically protecting the seeds so they can grow into new plants. Somewhere I read that the most thc is around the seed casing, so this lead me to think, some plants have protective measures to ensure that animals dont eat them, right?... but imagine when cannabis could grow freely (without the government swooping down in helicopters to kill plants, ahhahah sounds funny), what kind of animals were walking along and took a nice little chunk out of a cannabis plant and got fucked up. It's like instead of a defense mechanism, thc is actually the opposite. Animals most likely would come back. I'm sure there is info on specific animals that ate cannabis as their regular food, its pretty interesting .....Just a thought that sparked some deep thinking and imagination. I'm not even sure this is coherent or if it is a complete thought because im suprisingly toasted off of these high mids, but put in your 2 cents or talk about trippy thoughts you may have had, I would love to read some good high thoughts. I thought I would post this here because it wouldnt get any responses in philosophy.

this reminded me of this movie i saw in science class about a family of bears, and one of the bears ate mushrooms and was tripping so hard. . . let me see if i can find it. ah it was called The Bear.
