Hair Drug Test + Alcohol = ????????

Well, i was thinking...i'm no stylist..and i'm a guy so i dont know shit about hair except how to buzz it all off...lol...i have like 1/4 inch hair. Well, I got to thinking during class today....

Does alcohol have any negative side effects on hair? (i'm a guy..so i dont give a fuck if it makes it dry or hurts my hair much...i could care less..i hate hair.) but, got to thinking about hair drug test as my last job required them and I know that these are much more thourough, expensive, and harder to pass.

But, as iwth ISO and other methods, you extract the THC in the weed with ALCOHOL, so what would happen if you gave your hair a bath in alcohol? Would that have any negative effects and would this help at all in removing the thc metabolites and traces from your hair?

Anyhow, just a thought and i though i'd throw it out there for some opinions/experiences/feedback....

or, what about a "hot as you can handle" HAIR OIL WASH..with some kind of oil....if you can put up with the feel of your hair for a bit? just another idea...

I don't think that will work. The thc is gonna be on the inside of the hair too and the shampoo could only POSSIBLY extract the thc from the outside and I'm not even sure it will do that. I'd say no-go on this idea man, sorry.

Yes, I know they have shampoos out there, but I wouldnt want to buy any of them. Currently I'm not in need of a solution, but i was trying to explore an idea for those who are.

I was thinking about it this way:

So...your gonna rince your hair out in rubbing alcohol or such jsut like you make hash oil and the such. Well, when you get down to the fluid dyanamics part of shit and really break it down, when compared to water, alcohol does not have that massive surface tension as does water. When you come to think of it, thats why water gets stuck more often in small filtering devices, carbuerator holes in cars, and clogs things up when say alcohol and gasoline does not(as a comparison...i'm not saying put gas in your hair...dont mistake this one!!)

Now, do a test, drop a drop of water on the table, then drop a drop of some strong percentage rubbing alcohol on the table. Notice how the water beads up and creates a ball? Yeah....because of the surface tension. Now, do the same with alcohol, Oh, look, not so much of a ball, it more spreads out on the table, flattens out, and look how it works it's way around pores and openings on the table if you have a semi-pourous surface. That's because alcohol does not have as much as a surface tension as water and gets through things a lot better. Well, this is how i've always noticed it a least, and thoughtout the next day or two i'll be doing some hard research on the topic when I get time.

Now, my theory is, hair, while strong a thick, still, under a microscope has layers, grooves, cracks, and pores in it no matter how well you take care of your hair. Well, i'm figuring the alcohol shoudl do the same thing as like on the table, and more soak into/permeate throughout the hair because there is no so much surface tension holding it back as like water or a shampoo/water mixture would have. Then, while it's in the hair, I was thinking that maybe it would help dissolve some of the THC in the hair better versus the other combos.

This is my theories and reasoning to what I thought was a good idea. LOL. If anybody knows a way of testing it, i'd sure as hell give it a shot, but since i'm poor...lol....and dont know where to get a home hair test..i guess i'll just have to wait.

So, this is my morning thoughts and ramblings on the subject, i got to give it a lot fo thoguht last night, because like I said, it stayed on my mind. LOL. Anyhow, not too bad of a post i guess for waking up 4 minutes ago. LOL My daily routine...wake up, and hit the GC FORUM!

Yes, doing some reading:

"Surface tension is typically measured in dynes/cm, the force in dynes required to break a film of length 1 cm. Equivalently, it can be stated as surface energy in ergs per square centimeter. Water at 20°C has a surface tension of 72.8 dynes/cm compared to 22.3 for ethyl alcohol and 465 for mercury."

meaning that the alcohol balls up less and is not as restricted to grouping itself together like water....?

I also found another place that states it absorbs more nutrient's/particles/dissolves more in conjuction with the surface area. As the Surcace Area, went DOWN, the amout it could dissolve could be raised. This was being tested on nutrient absorption for leaf feeding of some plant in the test. i'll cite more later.

to me, the question doesn't have that much to do with surface tension. Though valid, and potentially even important, i think the big question is how strong is the bond THC forms in your hair, vs the dissolving power of the alcohol. alcohol could have 0.0 dynes/cm, but if the bond THC creates in hair is stronger than the solvency of the alcohol, it will have no effects. THAT'S what you need to look into somehow.

I do know that when they test a lot of times that the hair is dissolved for the test in different solutions.
