How to roll a joint UK Style!

Well ive looked around these boards and most people smoke joints with grams and grams of weed in them...

in the UK, well certianly most people i have met, we smoke with tobacco (i know its bad but hey)... here is just a little photo log of how i roll a joint

Right, 1st off, take a kingsize blue slim Rizla paper and turn it inside out, have it so the sticky side is facing you on the outside.

You then want to make yourself a roach fom a rolled piece of cardboard.

put the roach in whichever end you roll from (im form the left)





take some tobacco (optional) and place a small amount alone the bottom of the joint


i have chosen cutters choice hand rolling tobacco.





next you take your pre ground mary jane and lay a generous helping over the tobacco




hmmm....

now the fun bit... roll from the roach, make sure the paper is tight around the roach first and then run ur finger down the sticky side until u have the two sides tight...






you then fold the joint over one whole rotation until you can see the other edge of the paper thru the side you are rolling...



if you look carefully at the above pic, you can see where the two edges meet

the idea is to moisten this side of the paper, so it seeps thru and sticks like so...



you then proceed to rip off the excess paper....



tie up the end and pack down and ur all finished....

THis method of joint rolling is known as backroll, backflip and dam... im sure u all have other names for it also but there are mine :P

I roll pretty similar but I roll with the rizla the right way round most times unless it's a special occasion where i'll do a dutch roll like you did.

I think it's only us in the uk and people in Europe that use tobacco in joints.

my dads english i roll most of my joints like this but the filtery thingy usually cloggs up so i end up taking it out.

Yeah roach usually consists of a small bit of cardboard, never usually gets clogged up for me! lol

Mango sounds about right, looking at the colour. Great pics; I've never been able to backroll. Pretty much all the locals in Amsterdam do it, and make it look so easy!

Just wanted to add a small variation of my own; if you roll with tobacco, a thin layer either side instead of just one side of the weed will stop it sideburning. You can also grind the weed and 'bacca together, and add it to the spliff mixed, but either way I always leave a few chugs of 'bacca at the roach end, so's not to waste any weed.

not true my friend... around here we call em spliffs... and i roll them once every now and then... especially when we are running low on the herbage il break open a cigg and roll some backy with the green goodness.

very nice roll job to the thread starter looks like the pre-rolled cones that u can purchase out here.

we do it to conserve weed but also with us the tobacco helps intensify to effects of the herbage. i dont know other people reasons but that is mine.

Yeah in the US a joint rolled with tobacco is called a spliff. Pretty uncommon, but personally I always roll with tobacco unless I'm using mids or something. Makes it burn slower, draw better, saves weed, and for those that don't smoke cigs, it adds a nice tobacco buzz to your high.
