Bio(RooR Germany)
ROOЯ is a German glassware company established in the 1980s by German glass blower Martin Birzle. The name comes from from the German word for "pipe", which is "rohr", and ROOЯ is a disambiguation of this. ROOЯ primarily makes borosilicate glass bongs, pipes and other smoking accessories. ROOЯ glass is hand blown and made in limited numbers, allowing for high quality control. There also exists a US division of ROOЯ through a partnership agreement with Dementia, a glass blowing company in Southern California, United States. ROOЯ is a scientifically designed waterpipe. They use the optimum water/volume ratio for the most superior smoke experience possible. They are known for cutting edge design, as well as superior craftsmanship. ROOЯ is also known for the innovation of the diffuser, a design which has many small holes at the bottom of the downstem which "diffuses" the smoke into many small bubbles creating a smoother smoke. The concept behind a diffuser is displayed when the smoke emerges into the water. Instead of large bubbles rising through the water, the smoke diffuses into many small bubbles, thereby allowing for more filtration, a product of the increased total surface area. They offer many diameters of tubing as well as lots of different thickness of glass, ranging from 3.2mm thick up to 7mm. ROOЯ uses glass exclusively in the joints, often referred to as "glass on glass", and there are no rubber stoppers anywhere in the design.
In contrast to the colorful hand blown smoking accessories commonly seen in the United States, ROOЯ pipes and bongs always use premium glass (Schott Duran tubing) giving them a minimalist or "chemistry lab" look. A trademark ROOЯ design element is a "ROOЯ" logo prominently featured, as well as a signature or a "squiggle" on the base of a pipe making each one unique.. The company's pieces usually feature a three piece design, first with a small glass 'bowl' with a glass gauze to prevent the smoking material from falling through, which fits via ground glass joints into a down stem, which itself fits via another ground glass joints into the main pipe.

How to use your RooR
Due to long-term design studies and functionality tests, ROOR-bongs allow for an optimum of smoking pleasure. The ROOR models’ different water/volume ratios guarantee the satisfaction of every kind of smoker characteristics. Besides a perfect design, the pipe – however – has also to be used correctly in order to give utmost smoking delight. Thus, take the following hints into consideration: 1. Only a clean bong can taste well. If regularly cleaned, the pipe will not be only a pleasure to the eyes, but also to the respiratory organs. (Plus: a clean pipe is always a legal pipe and can not be taken away from you!) 2. The content of water is of considerable importance for a smooth inhalation process. Too little water leads to poor filtering, too much water can even result in a situation where the smoker’s mouth gets in contact with the water. The right water volume depends on the size of the pipe’s body, the size of the ground-joint and/or and on the user’s inhalation speed or strength. Thus, test your ideal water volume best with a clean pipe and clean water. 3. Disperse the smoking mixture well in the bowl. Start with a low input. 4. Light the mixture, inhale regularly, and pull the bowl off soon enough so that you can still empty the pipe of smoke in one stroke and even inhale a little bit of fresh air afterwards. No smoke must remain in the pipe, as the taste of it will not be mild any more and could lead to coughing! The inexperienced smoker should raise the smoke quantity step by step until he is aware of his individual lung capacity. Thus, start with a low quantity of smoke – approx. 1/3 of the pipe’s volume. If this seems to be too little, then enhance the quantity until a subjectively good hit has been reached. For this, the lung should be filled with smoke, the bronchi, however, with fresh air.
