The way your doing it seems to start taking out plant matter giving you that dark green color. Also I don't put baking soda in it, wouldn't that give it a wierd taste?

I dont notice the flavor atall its not needed just alot easyer to handle then the sticky mess it is.

it do the whole ounce it will yeld a good amount i wouldnt use swag. Like i said earlyer youre getting the THC in there so more THC more youre going to get.

With the keif method, i find that it works just as well if you toss your little package into the oven at 150F for 5-10 min to soften it up before pressing.

Bloody GREAT thread. I have never had hash. I had NO idea making hash could be so easy. I'm going to try the bubble hash method this week. This may sound like a stupid question, but what does "ISO" stand for? What liquid are you mixing the leftover bubble hash weed with in the ISO method? Thanks again for a very simple to use guide. I'll update on my results.

isopropyl alcohol and no the wet weed from doing the bubble hash is good as garbage.

that wouldnt be hash. it would just be bud really ground up and smashed togeather. Hash is the trics that fall off/collected.

isnt baking soda kind of....harmfull to smoke? i mean ya ppl consume it ...but inhaling it into ur lungs lol?> If its not i should try it cause i ahve some hash i let sit for to long in the jar a few months back and the result was to sticky in the end, unlike the time i only left it for 24 hours in the jar and i had a nice rockk hard end result. But ya, the baking soda just seems like it would be bad, esp if u make alot of has hand smoke alot of it, cause it is a chemical after all (NaHCO_{3), it'd be like putting salt in your hash cause it is a salt (}sodium hydrogen carbonate) but it does have around the same melting point as hash(thc) which for baking soda is around 49°C. Seeing how its got many other names it goes by since its widely used; bread soda, cooking soda, saleratus, or bicarbonate of soda. And the word saleratus, which in latin (sal æratus) means "aerated salt". Lol i wouldnt reccomend it.

For the Iso method, can I use a disposable coffee filter?
Is there any safe methods of heating it up at the end to evaporate the Iso more quickly? I was thinking a hair dryer or the microwave or oven, but that might smell up the house.

Just a thought about using baking soda to keep it dry.... why not use keif? I've saved all mine for just that purpose, and so far last night it worked good, gobbled up the keif, and my fingers didn't smell like a volcano experiment. Anyone else have good results with keif as sub for NaHCO3?

Oh and I would think that the ISO style might be dangerous still if you use a hairdryer.... maybe less so with the ones that have a lower alc-water % and use a low speed from a distance.... but still a fire hazard. And ya I use disposable filter inside the reusable/removable hard filter - works like a charm.

Ridiculous amounts of excess time and energy wasted on making 2nd grade extracts.

I can make kif better than any of this in literally half the time, and you don't need a damn thing to do so other than trim and a table.

You don't have to make a mess... freeze things, melt things, make contraptions to not screw it up, etc..

You dont need to freez things...i dont remember melting things.....
The freezing is just a helpfull extra procedure for whatever method your using, it helps break down the cell structure so that it allows more trichome heads to be free, and freezing also helps harden them so they come off easyer...so that you get more kif/hash/whatver.
