the song was origanally called purple haze, jesus saves.
Hendrix claimed that the song was about love, explaining that the line "whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me" was the key to the meaning of the lyrics.
He even says that the song's colorful imagery came to him in a dream. "I dream a lot and I put a lot of my dreams down as songs" in a 1969 interview.
Purple Haze became Hendrix's second single after his manager Chas Chandler heard him playing the riff backstage and suggested that he write lyrics to go with it.

Most people who bitch and moan about it not being real "Purple Haze" werent even born when the real thing was being passed around. I think the real uproar is from the stupid fucks who hear "Purple Haze" by Hendrix and think its about the stain, when its really about a lsd trip.

Purple Haze is just the strain Purple #1 crossed with a Haze, i see the seeds for sale everywhere. Its not purple becuase of droppin the temp. it has purple in its genetics.

I think i saw a thread when i first joined a few months after about, that said Purple Haze is extinct as the title, its hard to say when things go extinct theres so many places in the world for something to exist is there really true extinction or not enough research? Nice find, but thats not 60s haze, thats a variant of brother's grimms original haze. I may not speak
whatever language that is, but i can translate this roughly:

I wouldnt be suprised of old hippies had some still growing, but that wouldnt even be the same. The fact is every time a clone is taken, the strain becomes weaker. Thats almost 50 years ago. The only other option would be seeds from original batches, and as far as i know those only last about 10-20 years.
And whoever said that there werent strains in the 60s must have never heard of greats like Acapulco Gold, Thai sticks, Pollayania(wrong spelling probably) or the original haze from the above link.
There is definitely a way to check if you have some real diesel, kush... its called the cannabible, You just have to compare traits of your buds to pictures.
