Well boys, i got my hands into some glass drillin and such and came out with my first homemade bong, very very kickass, not to brag. I found this vase in burlington coat factory ( next to the trench coats)....wow only stoners will find shit like this in a coat store.....tippiest vase ever so i hadda do it. i jsut finished it like 20 minutes ago. But for th bad news i broke my only bowl, yesterday and im dry....both suck, but on saturday i will definately let u kno how crazy a hit ill get from this baby. and ill name her after teh second hit. check her out. im convinced the vase was made to become a bong, look at the top.....the tip is made to like make a perfect seal on someones mouth to take the most uncontaminted hits ever. im stoked to rip this one man.

Fuck yeah dude. I would add a homeade like that into my collection if I made it myself. I usually only fuck with GonG (glass on glass), but why not attempt a GonG conversion on a vase like that. It would be tough but you could do it.

what method did you use to drill the glass? some say pour water over it while you are drilling, i dunno if that is needed tho. just seems like the glass would break either way. dunno but thats sick i wanna make one

dont use water when ur drilling glass, i broke my first when i tryed that...
and if u want it gong, use a rotary tool (dremel) with a grinding stone:

use the second from the right...

another way to do it is to buy a downstem and either epoxy or hotglue it in

that is a pretty sick vase to make a bong out! Im constantly on the search for things to make new ones out of but it seems that peir 1 imports has the best shit Ive found so far. I want to attempt to use a propane tortch to make Ice notches in the next one I find.

i used a diamond core drill bit on a drill press, i have a metal shop so tools are handy

. i did use water to keep teh bit cool. the trick is to mix a squirt of dish soap to the water for some lubrication and put it all in a spray bottle. then just keep the bit wet and cool. Then jsut drill real slow it took about 2 minutes of soft and constant pressure for me to finally get through... i had to experiment on a couple of beer bottles before i got the hang of it. but im real happy with it, but it could be better.....

im interested in this GonG techniques......I once tried using map gas and melted a hole in a beer bottle the put a downstem in it, let the liquid glass make a seal. and let it cool, but the cooling was too rapid (even at room temp) and the bottle broke by itself, the bottle was sitting there all fine then i just hear cracking and i look over and the thing shatters and collapses on itself, but the downstem was alright. let me know.

thats badass... ive always wanted to make a bong like that cause whenever im in random places i always see vases that are PERFECT for bongs... this is my inspiration i WILL do it soon!
