What makes a stoner?

I don't really classify myself as a stoner, but I think a lot of people do because they don't really know much about it and i kinda talk about it a lot. During the summer I smoked probably an average of 3 days a week, however now that school has started, I usually only smoke once or twice on the weekend. Last year I went to school high twice and this year I plan on doing it at least a couple times, although with my crazy ass schedule I donno if that'll be possible. Anyway I wouldn't mind be labled a stoner because I think it's kind of a stupid term anyway, but i Just don't think I"m a stoner. Maybe it's becuase I'm pretty close friends with people that smoke almost daily... I donno.

Basically: Smoked 3-4 times a week. Now smoke 1-2 times a week on the weekend. I own 2 peices.

Do you think I'm a stoner? According to you, what makes a stoner?

Whatever you want, when i was in high school id smoke every day, and was never labeled a stoner, but some guys smoked semi weekly and were considered stoners because of the people they associate with.

It's not anything. If you want to be a stoner, be a stoner. But be damn proud of it. It's whatever you make of it. If you're called a stoner and disagree, then shake it off and continue to live your life. If you're called a stoner and think it has a nice "zing" to it, then congratulations, you're a stoner.

When people use the word stoner i usually think of people that dont really have any hobbies but smoking

people know me as a stoner-- and i advertise the title (hemp wear, marijuana related attire, telling non-stoners i'm high when i'm high). i want the whole world to know that i smoke a shitload of pot and remain completely sane, intelligent, and fully functional.

i have plenty of other hobbies besides smoking weed, too.

I refer to myself as a pothead, but pronounce it PO-theed. But I smoke several times a day. I'm still gonna go to a great grad school next year, so I just like to have fun with it. Basically what J Dylan said.

I dont think you have to be high 24/7 to be a stoner, i think u just have to really enjoy smoking it and like the culture associated with it

I've heard the terms used as definitions as such: (around here in the 561 this is how you "classify" a marijuana smoker)

A pothead is a smoker who is dumbfounded by marijuana. They can't get enough of it. They eat, sleep, and breathe the plant. Practically their entire world revolves around the consumption of cannabis.

A stoner is a responsible smoker. They smoke, yes, but they have control of their body and how much they toke. They generally don't fall-out into the 'marijuana makes you stupid and lazy' category and usually blend into society.

This guy is right on the ball, well in my opinion atleast. I go to class high all the time, I can concentrate so much better...

Exactly! Fuck what those government pricks say. I used to go to school ripped out of my skull ("study high, take the test high, get high scores") and it helped me concentrate because it made the work seem way more interesting. I always laugh when I see the ONDCP or some other bullshit group saying that it prevents you from keeping focus or whatever. In fact, I usually like to get nice and baked then go to anti-drug sites and laugh my ass off.

The more people that know you smoke the more they will think you a stoner. I smoked probobly 2 or 3 times a week in summer and now in the last 2 weeks I have smoke probobly all but 2 days. I also own probobly 7 or 8 pieces (like 4 are homemade) but I don't consider myself a stoner too but some of the kids I know think I am. I love beng high for class though. It helps me concentrate and get those deep anwsers quicker and easier.

I consider myself to be a stoner, probably because the only time I'm not smoking weed is when I'm packing a new bowl (just kidding). I've been smoking for the better part of of a decade, and have been doing so damn near every day since I started (except for a very bad dry period I had that last several months when I was 16), but I don't get out of control with it. Just because I smoke every day doesn't mean I smoke all day (except the occaisional weekend). I have a full time job, so I can't be fried all the time. I know some people that just smoke and smoke and do little else, and they do it all day, every day. Not fun to be like that. I usually just hit a few bowls in the morning, then another few around 3 PM, and a few more before I go to sleep.
