Hey guys...i've posted stuff about bubblers before but lack of funds made me drop the topic.

Well Christmas is around the corner and i will prolly get some money from family plus i have some lying around. Since i have a surplus i wanna get a glass piece for the new year.

Okay heres the problem. On all the websites and crap i go to.....BUBBLERS and HAMMERS look identical. I mean if there is descriptions, bubblers mention water filteration and i dont remember if hammers do to. The thing is if i go into my headshop, how ill I be able to decifer the two!?
Can someone fill me in?

Oh and i dont really understand how bubblers work..Does the smoke PASS throught the little water you put in?

What i didnt get was if your inhaling at the same time, wont it just by-pass the water, or not fully filter through it. See with a bong or such, the stem is placed IN the water so its forced to go through water before u can inhale it. ANways.

Thanks guys, i've tried to be as clear as i can.......any replies welcomes.....as long as suggestions. You bubbler owners tell me everything you know!

I don't have a bubbler but from what I understand there's a stem under the bowl which the smoke passes thru, then another chamber with the water, and the shaft/mouthpiece. The smoke goes thru the bowl -> stem -> water chamber -> shaft -> lungs... that's my guess at least

I could whip up a diagram if you want o_O

My next question is when im at the head shop, will i be able to tell by taking a closer look? (whether the peice has a stem going down making it a bubbler)

the last thing i want is a hammer instead of a bubbler

If you are buying the pipe in person, just ask whoever is showing it to ya. There are hammer bubblers out there, so just take some time and make sure you get what ya want. A nice bubber will last you a long while my friend, you will quickly be wondering how you survived without one!
